Rest is a gift from God | BE DIFFERENT

Leviticus 23 places rest all over the calendar because rest is a gift from God, and God’s redeemed people honor him with it. God did not only give Israel weekly rest. God filled their year with holy pauses, solemn rest, holy convocations, and days when ordinary work had to stop. God redeemed Israel from Egypt, where Pharaoh controlled their time, and God said, in effect, “Your time is mine.” Rest declared that life does not depend on constant productivity but on the grace and blessing of God.
