"First he calls out to her then he knocks then he praises her then he gives a personal appeal it's a desperate it's a desperate skillfully made appeal yet for all of this the maiden will not open up the door it's really interesting and a very engaging picture here that we have in verse 2 now before we go on to verse 3 this picture of the beloved standing outside the door and appealing to his bride for entry."
