The world, the flesh, and the devil stand as real enemies, and Genesis 19 shows that the heart of mankind has not changed one bit. Satan stirs the pot, but sinful flesh and a wicked world disciple families when fathers are absent, careless, or passive. The charge is plain: children are going to be discipled by somebody or something. A dad who hands over a child to tablets, phones, culture, and silence has given the world permission to train that home.

God’s rescue of Lot shows grace, but God’s judgment on Sodom shows that sin will not be winked at forever. The Lord rains fire and brimstone, wipes the cities clean, and gives a foretaste of final judgment. Sin is not “not that big of a deal.” Sin cost Jesus Christ His life, and at Calvary the full wrath of God was poured out on Christ for sinners.
