#EmpoweredByGrace
“Thank you, Jesus. That we don't change ourselves. We change because you empower us. Thank you that we don't obey in our own strength. We obey because your love compels us. Thank you. That we're not transformed because we are determined. We are transformed because you are able. Help us to respond to you when you challenge us to change. As individuals and as a family of your chosen and greatly loved people. We worship you Lord. Have your way among us. In Jesus name. Amen.”

#SpiritualLimp
“``What the Holy Spirit did on the back of that was put his finger on another issue. Issue. As far as I'm concerned, that strident independence is helpful sometimes not if it means that I'm ignoring emotional hurt. Not if it means that there's pain that I'm not dealing with. Not if it means that the holy spirit puts his finger on something and I say, no. No. No. I'm gonna deal with that later. Because it means that I just keep walking with a limp. But this time it's a spiritual one. It's not a physical And that spiritual limp affects everything else.”

#OwnYourWounds
“But often The Holy Spirit reminded me that we carry injury, we carry pain, we carry wounds because of stuff that we do. Not every pain that we carry is something that somebody else has caused. Sometimes it's something we've caused. Because of our sin and our disobedience and our refusal to follow God's ways. Our refusal to forgive, our refusal to move on, our denial that there's an issue. Sometimes we walk with with a limp. And the person who caused it was us.”

#ReturnToCovenant
“The blessings and the promises didn't go anywhere. It was the Israelites that wandered off. But the minute they wander back, they come back under a covenant, back under God's protection, go back under his promises, back. Then God says, welcome. Good to see you. He doesn't even say, where have you been? It's hello. Here's a promise. Take it. Here's a blessing. Have it. Here's enlargement. Want it? It's yours. Here's direction. Off you go.”

#WordChangesUs
“If the Holy Spirit has put something in your heart in terms of changing your outward behavior, you have to know that before that can happen, something has to happen on the inside of you. And the best way that that's going to happen is if you get under the word. I loved Sam's encouragement last week. Let's be a church that prioritizes gathering around the word. Let's make the word the most important thing, an important thing, part of the important things, whatever. Let's gather around the word. Let's let that instruct us. Let's let the word lead us. Let's let the word change us”

#PrayerWorshipWord
“Prayer, the word, worship are the heartbeat of repentance and renewal. We need to get under them. Need to get into them. I said this a few weeks ago, We're not going to see what we want to see happen unless we're faced down. And I don't mind if we're faced down in prayer, worship, we're under the word. I don't mind which of the three it is but but we need We need the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts through the word, through worship, through prayer so that we're aligned with what he wants to do with us as individuals and with us as a community.”

#NotMyIdentity
“And the danger is that we can get to a point where we experience the same frustration, the same problem. And we can start to tell ourselves, well, you know what? This is just my life. This is how it is. This is who I am. I have a temper. I can't control it. I have a yearning. I don't want to get on top of it. The challenge, of course, is that we have a god who is absolutely committed to seeing us go from glory to glory to glory.”

#ConfessAndRepent
“That's what Israel does. It takes responsibility It agrees that the best way to move forward is to follow God they need to do and be who God says they need to be. They stand together and say, we've allowed things to grow in us, around us, and between us that should never have been allowed, and we're putting an end to that now. And from time to time, my people, we may find ourselves in a place where we need to do the same. And if we do, and if the Holy Spirit puts his finger on that, let's be quick. Let's be quick. To confess and repent because then we get to move into a different future.”
