Day 1: Recognizing the Era of Closed Doors
We live in a paradox: a world more connected than ever, yet profoundly isolated. The rise of loneliness, even deemed a "social epidemic" in some nations, highlights a pervasive tendency to close our hearts and withdraw, whether from fear, weariness, or a desire to avoid hurt. This sad reality extends even into the church, where many believers, though they trust God, have stepped away from community due to disappointment and pain. When the doors of our hearts or our communities close, isolation and collapse inevitably follow, much like the ancient temple doors shutting, signifying a departure of divine presence. [02:00]
Acts 21:30
The whole city was in an uproar, and people rushed together, seized Paul, and dragged him out of the temple. Immediately, the doors were shut.
Reflection: Considering the 'closed door era' described, where in your own life or in your community do you most acutely feel the weight of isolation or disconnection, and what small step might God be inviting you to take to acknowledge it?
