“``What God's word tells us is not hard to understand, but it can be very difficult for us to live out. God has given each of us an assignment, a place in life that has been given to us according to his sovereign mysterious is something that he, as we see in this text, has called us into. And when the circumstances in that place get hard, and when they almost feel like they are unbearable, don't cope with your brokenness by x ing out the hardship in life and try to replace it by going somewhere else. Instead, what he says over and over again in this text is that when circumstances threaten to send you into the abyss, Obedience to Christ. That's what gets you through.”

“Everything about this text, it just hits us right where we live. And the hard temptation that we face is what I feel when the guy on the other side of the screen is pushing me harder than I wanna be pushed, and I wanna exit out and start again with someone else. And the Lord says, don't do that. Don't trade one situation for another. In my sovereign plan, have placed you here for a reason. I wanna teach you how to bloom where you've been planted by me. Just trust me for what I have done to lead you to this place, and I'll give you the strength and the ability to make it through.”

#trustThroughHardship
“and God's got a word for all of us in the room in those hard places of life when it feels so broken to just trust him, to not try to run away, to not try to change your circumstances by trading out your spouse for someone else, for not trying to think that the answer is found and just moving around. I'm so thankful that what God's word tells us in this text is sometimes the problem is not that which is around us, but the problem is that which is inside of us. as we learn to trust Jesus through the hardship of what we face, which by the way, the only time you grow is when you're terribly uncomfortable. When you learn to trust him in those spots, the Lord shows you things that you would never learn otherwise and as you learn them, you can be thankful.”

#honorInYourPlace
“The key to understanding is verse 19. Being circumcised to God means nothing. Being uncircumcised means nothing. Whether circumcised or uncircumcised, whether a slave or a person who is free, keeping God's command at the end of the day is the only thing that ultimately counts. that's how we live. Remembering that God in his sovereign plan has placed us in the social position, in the ethnic reality, in the socioeconomic status, in the marriage that we're in, and we're called to understand how to honor him in that place.”
