2. "Find someone who looks at you the way Max looks at pasta, right? Like, I like this one too. Get yourself someone who looks at you the way William Defoe looks at pancake mix. Like, right? Like, I would you love that? To be pursued, to be loved, like at that level. That's like, that's marriage counseling 101, by the way. I highly recommend marriage counseling. I think you ought to go. It's good to get touch points and have conversations you may not even know that you need."

3. "But you're going to see this morning, as we take a little bit slower journey through this, God's overwhelming, and I mean overwhelming, love. And we see it in the very first part of verse 5. You prepare a feast for me. If you're like me and you've read Psalm 23, you've probably heard it enough, seen it enough places that you just kind of nod your head along. Yeah, I know it. But here's what you need to see."

4. "You are too important to God to hand your time with him off to the servants. He's not just providing a meal. He's preparing the meal. It's like the husband or the boyfriend who's like, man, my girlfriend's coming over for dinner and we're not doing DoorDash. Like I got a recipe. Man, I've searched this. I got my grandma's recipe or I searched this online. I went to the store and I got all the ingredients and he's been in the kitchen and he's cooking, he's flavoring and he's looking forward to the moment where she sits down and it's not taco, bell."

5. "pursuing you and all of a sudden through his pursuit he has an opportunity to invite you in to invite me in to sit at the table with a special meal and we're going to talk face -to -face you and i language i don't know if you've ever been someplace like a dinner a meeting like with someone famous um a couple of weeks ago i was at a conference called the art of leadership sponsored by a guy named carrie newhoff that means nothing to you but for like in the preacher world that's kind of like super geek moment right like man i get to go to this carrie newhoff conference and there was about a hundred people in the room it's about all it was in a hotel kind of church lobby but first day we met this hotel lobby before we met in church kind of fellowship hall and the first day like they show up they go hey we just want you to meet people i shared some of this a little bit a couple of weeks ago we're there about 100 people we're walking around we don't know anybody meeting people we're about to go to dinner and that night as well as a couple of times for the next couple of days we're things carrie newhoff would walk around and he would greet people he'd come up to your table that you're sitting out talking how are things going you know you guys connecting you know what are you learning when you're sitting there getting dinner he'd come up and where y 'all from talk so three days 100 people with the guy who's in my world pretty pretty famous i got to spend about a grand total of 45 seconds with carrie newhoff right like i didn't go to lunch with him or dinner with him he just even in a room of a hundred pretty cool we had some question and answers we could ask him questions but that was not what this is this is not you're one of a hundred this picture is your one of one you've been invited into a meal with god face to face because he loves you and he's provided and he's prepared the meal for you and look at this it's not just a meal it's a feast it's a feast it's not a come and go it's a come and go it's a come and go it's a come and go it's a come and go stay it's hey we got plenty of food let's just sit and let's just hang out and let's just talk and let's just be together because i've been pursuing you and i love you and i've gone to this great extent expense"

6. "You've made my head fat with oil. You just keep pouring the oil. And my cup, it overflows. I've got a feast. I've got time. I'm not one of a hundred. I'm one of one. You're starting to feel for a moment how much God loves you. That's what David wants you to get inspired by the Holy Spirit when this is written. That God is pursuing you. He's been pursuing you. He wants that relationship with you. He's coming after you and he's doing everything he can to say, I love you and I want to be with you. And his generosity that he pours out knows no bounds."

7. "Because the generosity of God has been poured out on you over and over and over again. And when we fully get it, when we take our eyes off of ourselves long enough to see the generosity of God, I can't help but pour it out. Because when I see someone whose cup is empty and I look at their cup empty and I see mine overflowing and theirs empty, I'm like, hey, just, hey, bring your cup over here. Like there's more than enough. Just, it'll flow over. You know, like one of those like fondue things. Just get a little, you can get some."

8. "And God wants you to get it. He wants you to experience His love in such a way that you're just pouring it out on everybody else. This is how generous God is. I love this. There's a story in the Bible, one of those eyewitness accounts of Jesus. He's at a wedding and he's not even done a miracle yet, but he's at a wedding and the wedding party is running out of wine. In that culture, that was very taboo. Like you don't invite all these people to the wedding for this big celebration. And run out of stuff. You didn't prepare. You weren't ready. And the servants realize, hey, we're running out of wine and they're getting a little bit nervous because the party's still going strong. And they're talking, hey, how do we figure this out? Mary, Jesus' mother, overhears the conversation and she looks at Jesus and she's like, hey, do something."

9. "And David, the spirit of God is trying to tell us that. And then here's what he says. He says, surely, surely, like undoubtedly, I know your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life. Now, a lot of times I read from the New Living Translation. That's what we put up there because it's the most readable, one of the most readable versions of the Bible. And if you're not familiar with the Bible, I don't want you to get blown away. I want you to be able to read it and it makes sense, right? Well, I find myself a lot of times reading the New Living going, hey, because the readability, the word here is a little bit different. Like that fat head of oil, no one translates it that way because it just doesn't read well. But sometimes the New Living Translates things and you're like, ah, let me kind of work through that."

10. "Look back and reflect on what God has done in your life. You'll be surprised as you begin to look back and reflect at where God showed up. You know what? I thought this was the end, but God showed up. You know what? This looked like a bad thing, but God showed up. Hey, this was a bad thing. And God showed up and turned the bad thing. And all the brokenness. And all the broken pieces. And he put it back together into a good thing, right? That's what God does. He makes beauty out of ashes is what the Bible says. Like God, if you look back and we get our eyes off ourself for a moment, just to kind of reflect back. Hey, here's what God is doing. All of a sudden our faith begins to grow. That might be something that you put in your everyday rhythms."
