#ConnectionIsntCommunity
“``Here's how it is. You need to write this down, so we need to take a picture of this, because connection isn't the same as community and followers aren't the same as friends. Connection is not the same thing as community. Followers are not the same thing as friends. Now I I realize that some of you here, don't call yourself here at Atlanta Highway or Beechwood, you wouldn't call yourself a follower of Jesus, and I'm just so glad you're here. I mean, the the courage that it takes to come to church and I hope you feel so welcome and so loved and you may think this church is crazy, you may think I'm crazy, that's okay. But but my hunch is you know that this is true. You agree with this. You know people who are really lonely and you know that technology is not fixing the problem.”

#KnownAndLoved
“Now, I wanna make this really clear. If you're new around here, we are so glad you're here. You can attend this church for as long as you want. We will never make you believe anything. We'll never make you do anything. Never force you. What we're going to do is invite you to take steps of following Jesus in Jesus modeled living in community, and we want you to experience the benefits of living in community. Listen, do you know what our biggest fear is in all of life? The single biggest fear in all of life is that someone would know us and not love us. I want you to have people who know you and still choose to love you. I want you to have someone's home that you can go to in your sweats and no makeup and be yourself and be loved and accepted.”

#PrayWithYourPeople
“Then the ladies went in one room, the guys went in another room, we do that every now and then, and we just caught up with each other. It's like I shared, and, you know, one guy shared, and I prayed for him, and then next guy shared, and he prayed for him, and I shared. Jamie Scott's in our small group. I got to the end of sharing. Jamie said, Sean, we're all gonna put our hands on you, pray for you. I sat on my couch with tears in my eyes. And some men of God put their hands on me and asked for God's favor and blessing in my life. That's being happy with those who are happy. That is weeping with those who weep. Who are your people?”

#WhosInYourCircle
“and I'm convinced of this. As we start a new school year together, this school year, it is very likely, very likely this something amazing and maybe something really challenging is going to happen in your life, in my life, and I think an important question is, what do we do about that? Here here's one of the ways to ask that question. When something amazing or overwhelming happens in life, who do call? Here's a very simple way to say it. Who are you doing life with? Who's in your inner circle? Who are your people? That is an important question. Now here's what's fascinating.”
