Receive Now: Joy Unspeakable and Heavenly Treasures

The name of Jesus stands over the whole room as the place where healing, light, power, and victory are found. The Holy Spirit is not waiting for a better moment, a cleaner situation, or the end of the day. God is working right now, in present circumstances, with daily bread already on the table. The children’s bread belongs to the children now.

Christ’s finished work makes waiting unnecessary where faith can receive. Jesus already went to the cross, already rose from the dead, already shed His blood, and already put it on the mercy seat of heaven. The way has been paved, the work is finished, and faith has grounds to say, “It’s mine. I have it now.”

Joy unspeakable becomes the response of faith that receives the end of faith. Rejoicing is not a cute religious mood or a little “yeehaw.” Joy has to move the mouth, the feet, the body, and the atmosphere. The winning side does not act like the losing side, because the trophy is already in the case.

Psalm 126 gives language for the turnaround. When the Lord turns captivity again, mouths fill with laughter and hearts fill with singing. The tide may look like the enemy is winning, but the Lord steps in and turns it again. The breaker goes before, and what has been turned by God does not have to be dealt with again.

Fresh fire from heaven burns up what does not belong. The fire of God consumes what was not His plan and opens the new thing God is unlocking. The mind of Christ replaces natural, fainting thoughts with supernatural wisdom and revelation from the Spirit.

Matthew 6 brings the whole thing into secret obedience and heavenly treasure. Jesus says “when you fast,” not “if,” because fasting belongs on the calendar. Fasting is not working something up, but setting the flesh down and saying more of God is desired. The Father who sees in secret rewards openly, and what happens behind the scenes with God becomes undeniable when He births it.

Heavenly treasure is laid up when faith keeps rejoicing, confessing, fasting, giving, and standing even when nothing looks funny. The real estate picture says what is done in July can pay in January, and the Spirit turns that into a kingdom truth. What faith does today works now, works down the road, and even stores treasure in eternity. The layup ought to be basic for the believer: keep hitting the simple things, keep rejoicing, keep holding fast, and do not faint.
