Reaching up to God is an act of faith and alignment, not striving for perfection but positioning ourselves to receive His favor and blessing. When we reach up in prayer, worship, and obedience, we open ourselves to the outpouring of God’s Spirit and provision, just as water is poured out on the thirsty. This alignment is not about earning God’s love but about living in relationship with Him, trusting that His favor surrounds us like a shield when our hearts are humble and contrite. [28:06]
Isaiah 44:3 (ESV):
“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.”
Reflection:
Where in your life do you need to realign your heart with God today so that you can receive the fullness of His favor and blessing?
Reaching in means allowing God to work within you, building up your faith, and hiding His word in your heart. It’s about being honest with yourself, confessing your sins, and letting go of condemnation, knowing that in Christ there is no condemnation. As you reach in, you are strengthened by the Holy Spirit, encouraged to abide in Christ, and empowered to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. [01:10:19]
Romans 8:1 (ESV):
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Reflection:
What is one area of your life where you need to let go of guilt or shame and allow God’s Spirit to strengthen and renew you from within?
True followers of Jesus don’t wait for others to come to them; they reach out, lifting others up just as Christ reached down to us in our brokenness. Reaching out is an action that extends beyond ourselves, moving toward what God has placed in front of us and being a vessel of His love, favor, and blessing to those around us. When we reach out, we become a place where God is seen, love is felt, and lives are changed. [04:24]
Psalm 18:16 (ESV):
“He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters.”
Reflection:
Who is one person God is prompting you to reach out to this week, and how can you practically extend His love and encouragement to them?
To reach forward into God’s calling, we must reach up, in, and out, just as Jesus did when He pressed on toward the cross and resurrection. Reaching forward means forgetting what is behind, straining toward what is ahead, and saying, “Here am I, send me.” When we are sent by God, His favor rests on us, and everything we touch is positioned to prosper—not because of us, but because of our alignment with Him and willingness to fulfill His purpose. [01:01:47]
Philippians 3:13-14 (ESV):
“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Reflection:
What is one step you can take today to move forward in the purpose God has for your life, trusting Him to establish the work of your hands?
Giving is one of the most practical ways to reach up to God, aligning your heart with heaven and expressing trust in His provision. When you give cheerfully and joyfully, you declare that everything you have belongs to God, and you position yourself to receive the outpouring of His blessing. Honoring God with your wealth is not just about meeting needs but about worship and devotion, recognizing that He supplies all your needs according to His riches in glory. [33:12]
Proverbs 3:9-10 (ESV):
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”
Reflection:
How can you intentionally honor God with your resources this week—whether time, talent, or treasure—and trust Him to provide for every need?
The word God placed on my heart today is “reach.” Favor doesn’t just fall on us by accident; it flows through relationship. Every meaningful relationship in our lives began because someone reached out, but before that, there was a reaching in, and before that, a reaching up. True favor is not luck or chance, but the result of God’s goodness, grace, and love working in and around us. God reached down to us first, and now calls us to reach up to Him, reach in to strengthen ourselves, and reach out to others.
Reaching is an action—it means extending beyond ourselves, stepping out of comfort, and moving toward what God has placed before us. Jesus modeled this perfectly. He didn’t wait for us to climb up to Him; He came down to us in our brokenness. He lived in constant connection and alignment with the Father, always reaching up in prayer and obedience. This alignment is the key to experiencing God’s favor. Favor is not about striving for perfection, but about aligning our hearts, words, and actions with God.
One of the most practical ways to reach up is through giving. Giving is an act of faith and trust, a declaration that everything we have belongs to God. When we give cheerfully and joyfully, we align ourselves with God’s kingdom, and He promises to pour out blessings and favor. Our giving is not just about meeting needs; it’s an act of worship and alignment that positions us to receive from God.
To move forward in God’s purpose, we must reach up, reach in, and reach out. Jesus reached forward to the cross and resurrection, fulfilling His destiny because He was always aligned with the Father. Likewise, we are called to reach forward, forgetting what is behind and pressing on toward the goal. When we say, “Lord, send me,” we position ourselves for God’s favor to rest on us and for everything we touch to prosper—not because of us, but because of our alignment with Him.
Favor is not a formula; it’s a relationship. The depth of our relationship with God determines the depth of favor we experience. As we abide in Him, reach up, reach in, and reach out, His favor surrounds us like a shield, enabling us to fulfill the mission and vision He has for our lives.
Psalm 18:16 (ESV) — > He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters.
2. Philippians 3:13-14 (ESV)
> Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
3. 2 Corinthians 9:7 (ESV)
> Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
``Jesus didn't wait for us just to climb up to Him. He came down to us and to our brokenness and to our sin because of our need, because of His love for us. One thing I can learn from this is this. True followers don't wait for people to come to them. They reach down and lift others up. [00:04:12] (24 seconds) #LiftOthersWithLove
When I say constant connection, what that means is constant alignment. Constant alignment. What is alignment with God? My faith is aligned with him. My words of my mouth are aligned with him. Favor is not about striving. It's all about aligning. [00:26:24] (25 seconds) #AlignmentNotStriving
Every time we return, return the tithe. Or sow into the kingdom. We're saying, God, I trust you more than I trust my paycheck. I trust your kingdom more than I trust this world. What, Cody pray? Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. That's trusting in his kingdom. [00:33:18] (30 seconds) #TrustGodsKingdom
So when we give, we're not just meeting a need. We're reaching up to God in what? Worship. Recognizing that everything we have comes from him first. Giving is an act of what? Alignment. Caesar may get his portion, but God deserves our devotion. He deserves our devotion. [00:36:53] (27 seconds) #DevotionOverPossession
If you take, not if, when you take, reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out, it takes all three of those for you to reach forward for what God has for you. Sometimes we say, I just want to do what your purpose is, God. Have you reached up? Have you reached in, and have you reached out? For us to reach forward as Christ reached forward. [00:59:28] (38 seconds) #ReachAllThreeWays
When I heard the voice, whom shall I send? I shared on Wednesday briefly. And please hear my words. And I've used it and I will probably continue to use it in the context where it's meant. We should not be saying, Lord, use me. Lord, I want you to use me whichever way you can. What should you be saying? Send me. If you ask God to send you, Brody, you're ready to be what? I know that God's going to send me where I'm going to stand on purpose, in purpose, for purpose, and see His purpose fulfilled. Send me. [01:02:06] (68 seconds) #SendMeReady
Everything I touch will prosper. Not because of me. It's because of my God. Never fails. Never fails. Because I am in alignment with Him. That's reaching forward. Reaching forward positions you for the favor that establishes your calling. Your calling will be established and is established when you say, Lord, send me. Send me. [01:04:49] (49 seconds) #ProsperInAlignment
Church, favor is not a formula. Don't get analytical. Don't get this formula deal. Favor, it's a relationship. It is a relationship. [01:05:45] (32 seconds) #FavorIsRelationship
