#NoIdolsJustJesus
“How do you know covetousness has wrapped its tentacles around your heart? When you want something too much, either you'll sin in order to get it or you sin if you don't get it. That's what makes it an idol because it now comes on the throne of your heart instead of Jesus being on the throne of your heart. Do you not begin to see what it what difference it makes when he says, set your mind on things above. Remember, there's a throne. Remember, there's a king and that king is judge and that judge is Jesus.”

#RaisedWithChrist
“You see, Jesus Christ is seated on a throne. And so his throne has everything to do not only with heaven above, but also on earth beneath. And so you notice these three dimensions of our life that he comes to in verses one through four. First of all, your past. Your past. If you're keeping notes, that's the first thing. He says, if then you have been raised with Christ. That's the past. When Christ rose from the dead, you Christian rose as well. But also, if you have been raised, it also means that you died.”

#BelongInChrist
“You see, it's no longer about self esteem, but it's about Christ esteem. Who am I in Christ Jesus? When I was a kid, my dad played for a fast pitch softball team, and they let me be the bat boy. And the way that I knew that I belonged is they gave me a jersey that matched theirs. that matched theirs. It was a sense I fit in. I belong. I've got a task. It might be menial, going to get the bats, but I belong. You see, that's what it is to belong to Christ. What an honor.”

#PeaceThroughGrace
“The peace of Christ is the relationship renewal that you have through the forgiveness of sins so that when you stumble into sin. What do we like to do? Oh, I can't believe I did it again. Oh, I gotta try harder. Oh, am I ever gonna get over this? No. The first thing that you you do is you go to God and you say, God, forgive me in the blood of Jesus Christ. I am holding on to the peace of God that I have in Christ Jesus. It is Jesus who died and it's no trying harder that's gonna make me more acceptable to God, but I already have the acceptance in Christ Jesus.”
