#CrossAndResurrection
“He actually sent his one and only son, Jesus, who came and became one of us. And Jesus taught incredible lessons and he healed people and he performed miracles, but ultimately, Jesus allowed himself. He could have gotten out of it, but he allowed himself to be nailed to a cross. And on that cross as he suffered and died, he took our sin, all the ways that we've rejected God, all the ways that we've done things in our own way instead of in the way of God. He took all of our sin upon himself. He took the punishment of our sin upon himself, and he died on the cross. And on the third day, he was resurrected proving that he has authority and power once and for all. It's incredible.”

#FaithOverFear
“``Maybe you're afraid of what people might think about you. Maybe you're afraid to talk about Jesus. Maybe you worry about your family, your friends, your future, your job, and your school. Faith doesn't mean we never have fear. Faith means we trust in God even when we are afraid. That's the shield that God has given us. Fear says, what if everything goes wrong? Faith says, even if it does, God is still with me. Fear will say, I don't know what's going to happen, but faith says, I know the one who does. Faith isn't pretending that the problem isn't there. It's deciding the problem isn't bigger than our God.”

#KnowTheWord
“But here's the problem. You can't use a sword you've never picked up, and I think that's where so many of us can get stuck. We can't expect God's word to shape us on how we respond to life if we never spend time getting to know it. And I'm not just saying to to memorize scripture for information. The holy spirit uses god's word to shape us, to convict us, encourage us, and remind us what is true. We don't wanna be people who just know a bunch of scripture and never know how to use it or what it means. I think of someone who who knows how to change a tire, but the moment you put them in front of a car, they don't know what they're doing.”

#WordOverLies
“We actually see Jesus demonstrate this. In Matthew four, Satan comes to tempt Jesus three different things in every time Jesus responds with the word of God. Jesus knew the truth and where it came from. He knew that the enemy brought lies and temptation, but he had something to fight back with. And that's why knowing God's word matters. When lies say nobody cares about you, God's word reminds us that you are loved. When a lie says you'll never change, you'll constantly struggle with that. God God's word reminds us that he has made us new.”
