#CrisisToObedience
“All of us are met with a crisis when the word of God meets us. Every time I read the bible, I am met with a crisis because something in the word of God confronts my flesh, and now I have to make a decision in that moment. Will I choose God or will I say I'm gonna do me anyway? And far too many followers of Christ are saying I'm gonna do me anyway instead of allowing that crisis to lead them to obedience to the Lord.”

#NoDualDevotion
“Because there is no choice. If God is God, if he is if you say, the Lord our God is one. If that is your declaration, then there is not a choice. If he is God, follow him. But if that other thing that you have devotion of is really the thing that you wanna be devoted to, then follow it. Because here's the thing that I want us to understand. The moment you have a dual devotion, you've chosen the other thing because God is not in competition with your other stuff. Once you put him on the same plane with anything, you chose the other thing because he is not equal and will not share his authority and his identity with these lesser things that we place in its place. So”

#TearDownAltars
“He recognizes that he's talking to God. And so what does he rightfully do? He builds an altar to the Lord, and you would think that's great. Great. Amen. Got an altar. But God comes to him later on at night with a problem. And the problem is, okay, you built me an altar, but you built me an altar alongside all the other altars. And God is not content with the fact that he is has a place in your life and other things have other places in your life. God says, I want to have all the places in your life. I want total devotion. I want complete allegiance for you. And therefore, he comes to him at night and he says, thank you for the altar. But what I need you to do is go tear down the other altars. Right? Because that is what he wants in our life.”

#AllOrNothingFaith
“He doesn't want this dual devotion. He doesn't want us to keep erecting these these other idols in our life that that is fighting for and that we're competing. He's fighting for and competing with our attention for. He wants all of us Teacher. And everything else has to go because that is not a full devotion to him when we keep it in our life and allow it to be the thing that we run to, that we lean on, that controls us. So God says, whatever is an idol in your life, don't build an altar to him next to it. Tear it down and devote total allegiance to him.”
