#HiddenPsalms
“``Wait. What? That's in the bible? Who let that in? My guess is most of you gave pause when I asked you to say thanks be to God. For that? is this doing in my bible? Why would God include such violent imagery and in this case, directed at children in a prayer of the bible. In fact, I wanna tell you this. Editors are so embarrassed about this psalm that many prayer books, hymnals, and guides simply choose to ignore it. They leave it out.”

#RealPrayerPsalms
“``I hope that you're appreciating that the Psalms are teaching us to be real with God. Not to put on a happy face and to pretend that I'm really spiritual or whatever. Right? But instead, to get real with God with what's actually happening. There's another type of or by the way, what we've been doing too in the recent Psalms that we've covered dealt with uncertain futures. It dealt with joy. It dealt with anger, with sadness, with blessing all aspects of our life. What does that mean? That's what we've been studying and now, we're gonna look at one other category it's the category of the imprecatory psalm.”

#NotForQuietTime
“``Not every passage of scripture, stay with me here, is ideal for a quiet time, my friends. You know what I mean? A quaint, serene, feel good time of beautiful thoughts, where I reduce the tension in my life and I experience a soothing I don't mean to make fun of this, there's some of that there too, but this ain't one of them friends.”
