#SingWhenItsHard
“It's not it's not always easy to sing these songs of ascent. To sing these songs on the way up because let's face it, A lot of times we don't feel like we're on the way up. But singing about the security of God surrounding Not some of the time, but all of the time. And resting in the knowledge that the just judge will inevitably do what is right. That's a song to sing. And it is especially a song to sing when it's not the song you want to sing.”

#ArkInsideSafety
“During that journey, during that ordeal, and yes, it was grace and it was it was salvation, it was good, but that thing had to be a nightmare. That much water over all the earth, I have no doubt there there there was sickness, there there was discomfort, And I guarantee you, Noah and every single person in that ark in those hundred and fifty days, I guarantee you they fell down and they fell down a bunch. They fell down a lot inside the ark, but never once did they fall down outside the ark. They were surrounded by God's grace and God's salvation.”

#FaithPeaksAndValleys
“Now let me ask you a question. Does that not describe your faith to a t? Kind of a sawtoothed history, One of advance and decline. One of wins and one of losses. Ones where you are right where you need to be and others where you are thinking to yourself, how on earth did I get here? Peaks and valleys, progress, and decline, an unsmooth journey. Very very often that is the Christian faith. It is an unsmooth journey. That's why this song is important.”

#SafetyNetCarefree
“You would think that fewer people would fall without the net. Right? Fewer people fail with the net. They they they weren't careless, but they were carefree. Because with every piece of construction that was going into that bridge, these guys knew no matter what happens, no matter how I slip up, no matter how I fall, I'm going to be caught. I'm not going to die. So they weren't careless, but they were carefree. If I fall there's the net right there. I saw it catch Johnny the other day. He's fine. He's right over there working today. Fewer people fail with the net than without it.”

#FeelingsAreRealNotFinal
“Feelings are there. Feelings are real. Feelings are value valued. They give importance to a number of things but they don't tell you anything about god or your relationship to him. They could see the mountains surrounding Jerusalem. They knew intellectually surrounds But when the struggles of life inevitably happen, when the pitfalls come, those intellectual knowledges, those those observations that are made readily, they quickly quickly become drowned out.”

#NoJudgeNoVerdict
“Now maybe I lost you somewhere along the way, but here's the gist of it. This this atheist character just just lived his life as a series of proofs trying to prove himself in certain seasons in certain ways like establishing himself, doing many things, making choices. And he said, I I just I I thought of it all as like one day I'm going to be approved or I might even be condemned, but I'm going to know. There's there's gonna be a verdict rendered someday, but then he begin to realize in his atheistic belief, he looked up and there was no judge on the bench.”

#FickleFaithSawtooth
“As great as this song is, as life changing of a message as this song carries, all too often Israel and us has a very fickle faith. What I mean by that is here one minute gone the next. Hot one day, cold the next. Hallelujah one day, oh my goodness the next. In fact, as I was looking over this text which is unbelievably easy to preach this past week, I came across an author who said this. He he referred to what he called the sawtooth history of Israel.”

#HemmedInByGod
“Again, what we so often think of in the negative, being hemmed in. The idea that the follower of Jesus Christ is hemmed by him. And and his hand is upon us. And this stretches the imagination so much that the very guy who God was using to write scripture says, it's it's it's too wonderful for me. I cannot attain it. Whenever I sit and try to understand this, it's just too great for me. That is our place. That is our position in our Lord Jesus Christ. One that is too great and too much. Now here's the problem.”
