#FaithInHisCharacter
“See, God is calling us to know him on the basis of his care. So that's faith really. Faith trusts God's promises because it trusts the God who makes the promises. Right? Our faith learns to interpret God's hidden ways through his revealed character rather than interpreting his character through his hidden ways. You get that? We look at who God is first. Faith rests the certainty that the God we cannot presently perceive is nevertheless exactly who he has revealed himself to be. See, we are not ultimately steadied by explanations of God's ways by knowing how this is gonna work out. We're steadied by the revelation of God's character which is constant.”

#CrossAndResurrection
“when you wonder whether God loves you, look at the cross. It's the greatest display of the steadfast love of God. When you wonder, where is God at and is he faithful? Look at the empty tomb. It is the promise. You realize that your resurrection is in inseparable. Your bodily resurrection is inseparable from Christ's resurrection. That is the point of first Corinthians chapter 15.”

#JesusIsNear
“When I feel abandoned and alone, Jesus says, I am nearer than you know. I will never leave you and I will never forsake you. Or when guilt or failure accuse us, Jesus says, no. I'm your merciful redeemer. There's therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. And when I fear that tomorrow is gonna overwhelm me, I'm anxious about tomorrow, Jesus says this, I am already there. I'm ahead of you. Don't be anxious about tomorrow. And then when I can't understand what God is doing, Jesus says, I'm wise. You can trust me. I've got it. Paul said in Romans 11, oh, the depth and the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God. And then if death frightens you or when death frightens you, Jesus says, I am your life. I am your future because I live, you will live also. I am the resurrection and the life and my point in going through all that is just to flood you with what we're talking about this morning.”

#GraceInWeakness
“When I fear that I will not endure, that's where I was at. Jesus says, I'm keeping you. I've got you. Jude 24 says, he's able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless. He's gonna keep you there. He's gonna get you there. You're gonna get to the end. May seem like you're at a death point at some, but He's gonna take you to the end or when I feel overwhelmed and inadequate, probably probably happened in the last couple of days, right? Jesus says, I am sufficient for you. Go to second Corinthians chapter 12. Paul said, he learned to be thankful in weakness and to glory in weakness because he learned that God's grace is sufficient for me and his power is made perfect in weakness. So Paul was saying, I feel weak but that's a good thing. Actually, that's the entire point of the whole book of second Corinthians.”
