#FormedByTrials
“``Friends, we should not be dismayed when times of difficulty, discouragement, and suffering come into our lives. Could it be that God is disciplining us to grow and shape us into the image of his son? Could it be that he's removing sinful attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors from our lives so that we can follow him more closely? And rather than viewing these sufferings and these hard times and these troubles and these struggles and these trials and tribulations as, god, why is this happening to me? Maybe we can ask, father, what are you forming in me? Because I trust you.”

#TrustGodsSovereignty
“``We live in this delusion that we control each moment by our decisions. And, friends, I love you, but that's simply not true. Only God is in control of all things. Only God is sovereign. So when we trust in him with all of our hearts, when we acknowledge him in all of our ways, when we lean on his understanding, he directs our paths. He makes them straight so that we can accomplish his will, which brings him glory and is for our good. This is the word of the Lord. Like, this is trusting him. This is what it means.”

#ReleaseControl
“``Friends, isn't this how we come to our relationship with God many times? We tell him, God, I trust you. God, I'm gonna give this up. I'm gonna allow you to be in control. And as soon as he puts us in a place that seems scary, difficult, or outside of our control, we get anxious. We get upset. We say, put me down. Take me back. This is not no longer comfortable. I'm not okay. We fight for control from the Lord.”

#ShapedByThePotter
“``Instead, we're called to trust in the Lord with all of our heart, and that means trusting in his discipline in our lives because he is in the business of rooting out sin and shaping us and molding us into the image of his son. See, like I said a moment ago, God loves us too much to allow us to wander too far from him. And if we are walking closely with him, God will discipline us to continue to mold us and shape us into his children. There's this image of God that's used in Isaiah and in the Psalms where God is called a potter.”

#TrustTheNextStep
“But the other thing that's really cool is that a lot of times in in Hebrew, which is what the original language of this proverb was, the Hebrew words often have word pictures associated with it. And so this word for trust has a picture associated with it, which is of lying face down, helpless in front of. So I want you to take those two things and put them together. It's this bold reliance and security in the object of my trust, so much so that I would lay down, face down, and be helpless in front of. That's the kind of trust that Solomon says is from wisdom.”

#TrustGodCompletely
“``Like, how many of us struggle so much with, Lord, I need guidance. I need clarity. I need to know where I'm going. Let me get the five year plan. Can I get it on a vision board? Like, what's happening here? Right? Am am I the only one? Like, the God, I wanna know what's five steps down the road? And what does he say every time? Trust me. Trust me here. Trust me with your next step. Obey me here. Trust me here. We'll get there. Trust me here.”

#HonorGodWithWealth
“``If I'm if I'm saying, God, I'm going to trust you with everything except my kids. I'm gonna keep my kids. You've got everything else, but I've got them. Guys, that's that's not trusting God with our whole hearts. I'm gonna say, God, you've got everything except my finances, my job, my money. Like, you've got all that. I'm gonna take care of this. Like, that's not trusting the Lord with all our hearts. We're saying, God, you've got everything except my relationship and with whom I'm gonna marry or whom I'm gonna date or how this is gonna work out in my life, my singleness, my whatever. Like, that that's not trusting God with all our hearts. We trust God with all of our hearts. We're saying, God, you get it all. You get it all.”

#StopLeaningOnSelf
“``But here's what I have learned. That if I don't want money to be an idol in my life, if I don't wanna be consumed by anxiety over my finances and wealth, then I have to follow the principles that God lays out in his word, and I have to trust him with my provision. And the first step in doing that is honoring the Lord with my wealth, and that means giving generously back to him from what he's given to me. Is that easy? No. It is not easy. Do I always get what I want because I give to the Lord? Nope. I don't.”
