#ForewarnedFaith
“``A little while later, maybe three weeks later, my wife has a dream where we're invited to have a meeting with the elders. And in this meeting, I'm fired, and so is my wife. And she wakes up, and she's like, that would never happen. I said, sweetheart, it's gonna happen exactly as you dreamt it. I said, the Lord is telling us on the front end so that we wouldn't get bitter and cold when it happens. He's doing this to preserve our faith on the front end. And here's the thing, when God tells you on the front end about the suffering you're going through, when you go through it, you're less tempted to abandon him because of it, because he was with you both before it, and he'll be with you during it.”

#SpiritForEveryone
“In the old covenant, the only people who were given this spirit were the prophets, some of the priests, some of the kings of Israel, and some of their judges. In the new covenant, God is not just pouring out his spirit on those offices of Israel, Now, he's pouring it out on all of his people. Everyone who enters into this new covenant with Christ, they're now recipients of this powerful spirit. So, not just the special offices. Not just the guys with the microphones. Right? It's not like I'm up here with the caffeinated Holy Spirit, everybody else got the decaf. It didn't work that. What he's saying is now, the democratization of the Spirit has happened. All of God's people are going be a people marked by the Spirit of God, which means they're going to be prophetic people.”

#GraceByFaithAlways
“New Covenant how many of you have heard this before? That in the Old Covenant, people were saved by works of the law, but in the New Covenant, we're saved by grace through faith. How many of you have heard that before? Okay, that's a lot. Here's the thing, it's not true. How we are saved has never changed. We have always been saved by grace through faith. We have never been saved by works of the law. In fact, that's kind of the point of Romans. He's like, hey, works of the law never saved you. That was the whole point. The Old Testament was meant to be a tutor to show you, you're never gonna add up. We need grace that we can accept by faith. It's a free gift of God, not by works, so nobody can boast. How we've been saved has never changed. It's always been by trusting in God and his atoning work and his willingness to save us, never on our own ability to save ourselves.”

#ProphecyBridgesTruth
“You see, God started to shatter my understanding. Here's the wild thing. How many of you know that the scriptures teach that God is omnipotent? Okay. It says it in the scriptures. How many of you know that the scriptures teach that not only is God omnipotent, he's also omnipresent? He's everywhere in all places. Like, there's nothing hidden from his sight. And yet, why is it at times that even though the scriptures clearly teach these things, we still feel at times like God is so far away? Now, the scriptures do teach these things, so we should know them to be true. But a fact lodged way up here in your head, there's often a chasm between what you know to be true and what you feel in your heart to be true. The thing about prophecy is it has this brilliant ability to bridge that chasm, where God takes what you know to be true already because it's stated in the text, and all of a sudden allows you to feel the weight of that truth, so that your heart is more solidified. And this is actually God's intent.”
