#RobeOfRighteousness
“So often fathers would do anything for their child, And god, our heavenly father, proved that, that he would do anything for you by sending Jesus. And what does he do? He takes off your filthy rags, your dirt, your shame, and he covers you with a robe of righteousness. And he says, let's celebrate. There is a feast in heaven waiting for you. That's grace. That is undeserved love. That is God's riches at Christ's expense.”

#GraceWelcomesHome
“Do you know what grace is? That's grace. That's what grace is. A father welcoming his disobedient child home. A father instantly forgiving his son who squandered all of his money. A father who tells his son that you are always welcome here no matter what you've done wrong. That's what grace is. This beautiful reminder that throughout our life, we are going to stray away from god, that there are low points, that there are rock bottoms in your life, but you can't outrun the love of god.”

#ChildOfGodByGrace
“When you think about your earthly father, maybe he was great, maybe not so much, maybe he was gone, maybe he was present. God is our heavenly perfect father. And how great the father's love is for us. He demonstrated that by sending his son. Jesus is the perfect obedient son who died in your place, took your sin, nailed it to the cross, came back to life to make you god's own child. That is what we are, god's children.”

#LostEitherWay
“``Jesus has to address both camps. Because whether you are more like the younger son or the older son, both of these paths to being lost. The younger son chased after sinful pleasures. The older son looked to his performance. The older son was self righteous. The younger son was rebellious. Both paths to being lost. The temptation of the younger son leads to this thought that I'm so bad, god could never forgive me. And the temptation of the older son leads to this idea, I'm so good. I don't need god to forgive me. The younger son was lost and the older son was lost. What Jesus is doing is he's getting us to examine our hearts to see that all of us, because of our sinful nature, one way or the other, we are lost, and we need to be found.”
