In those words as you must have realized from the reading at the beginning the Apostle Paul sums up his ministry his work as a minister and there's a preacher of the gospel. He's already reminded these people that God had called him to this and that made him a minister had given him what he calls a dispensation of the gospel. [00:51:52]

There was certain clever people going round these early Christian churches at the very beginning in the first century and muddling the believers causing confusion in their minds. They claimed to be very able mill very Leonard Mill they called themselves philosophers so he says you see in this 8th verse of the second chapter beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit. [02:27:52]

The moment of men begins to stand in judgment upon this and say this isn't true I accept that but I don't accept this it's his authority it's what he thinks that's not a position we know nothing apart from what we have in these records the foundation of the apostles and the prophets and indeed the Apostle Paul himself is very careful to tell us in this very chapter. [07:20:44]

He knew nothing apart from that which was given to me by the risen Lord as he commissioned him on the road to Damascus and there is no other Authority very well now then I say let us take this opportunity therefore of reminding ourselves of certain fundamental and basic and primary truths it's all your in this one verse let me divide it for you in this way. [08:21:50]

You see he's a proclaiming a great good news wonderful good news he's proud of this thing whom we proclaim he's like a man I say who's been commissioned to sound the trumpet Paul he calls everybody to listen he's got Muslim novice good news to give them the most thrilling good news that this world has ever heard. [09:16:54]

You don't proclaim a speculation now you talk quietly about that but when you come to the gospel you see you've got the evangelical prophet Isaiah already anticipating the whole thing lift up your biases the town crier the man is making a proclamation yes he's got the shouted and that means it's a simple in the clear missing that's why you can shout it and proclaim it. [11:06:30]

He wanted to get this point home warning every men teaching every men that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus why did he do that well I'll tell you when this is something very wonderful to me you see these false teachers they said quite plainly and openly that their message was only for certain special people. [12:12:29]

God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent and this is still true so you see I draw the second deduction from this every men and again I thank God for this as I stand in this pulpit and try to preach because this is for every men it's obviously not based upon our ability or understanding is it have you ever tried reading a book on philosophy. [14:42:76]

The person is equally anxious that we should be clear about the content of the message as we are about its nature and here there is no difficulty he puts it his first word tells us really everything we need to know what is the message of Christianity what am i commissioned to do in this public am I sent here in order to give my views and ideas and notions about various things. [19:08:73]

The Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which is lost you see John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son wonderful but why did he do it all that whosoever believeth in him should not perish perish the danger is the danger of perishing my dear friend in a you and I we are not merely animals. [30:21:09]

The hope of glory the glory which is to come this is the marvelous thing you see we go on forever and forever as I said it's either heaven or hell and is eternal and my object since fall is to prepare these people who believe this message for him and for this glory which is coming it is not merely a message of forgiveness we are not merely delivered from the guilt of sin. [43:04:01]

The Apostle John puts it like this every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself even as he is pure the man was heard and believed the warning the man was accepted the teaching the man who believes that the Son of God so loved him that he left him and literally died for him the cruel death is a man who says I'm not my own. [47:17:40]
