#FinishedWorkFaith
“``This is what you call spiritual circumcision. And look at this as the removal of dependence in your own ongoing I mean, on on the confidence in the flesh and the belief that Jesus fulfilled all of those requirements. I I like this. I look at this as a great test for us too. Think about this. Ask yourself, it's good to check, like, where is your confidence? What do you believe? Is it in your own ongoing efforts, or is it in the finished work of Jesus on the cross and from the tomb?”

#StillStrivingLikePaul
“And I'm not sure if I find this encouraging or overwhelming. When I see that Paul doesn't think he has it too, especially at at this stage in his ministry, after planting churches, after appealing to royalty, after engaging philosophers and politicians, after being shipwrecked and stoned and left for dead and beaten and imprisoned, all for the sake of Christ, he's still striving, and he's mature enough to know that he is not fully mature, that he's not perfect.”

#PressOnForward
“Paul often uses lists to drive home his points or provide instruction. He does this in verse 13. What's his list? Well, what do I do? I forget what lies behind, I strain forward to what lies ahead, and I press on toward the goal. often let things that are behind us distract us. Right? Whether they're they're good or bad things, it doesn't necessarily be bad. Looking at the past though, continually keeps us from what God has in store for our future and where we're going. Why do some just keep a hold of the past? I mean, is it comfort? I mean, is it anger? Is it regret? Is it resentment? I mean, we obviously we can't forget the past, but the key is we can't let it dictate our path forward.”

#HeavenlyCitizenship
“So pointing out what that means then to be a citizen of a place, what it means to be a citizen of heaven in today's world, in this place, we're foreigners. And in a foreign land, you should stand out as different. People should notice the difference. Now Christians, and we should be so marked by our heavenly citizenship that people should notice, that we're not of this world. Right? Just you can look at it, you know, truly look at it as we're passing through. I mean, yes, we're aware of our surroundings. We know where we are. We'll live here. We'll work here. We'll get involved in the affairs of our surroundings in in our society, but ultimately, we feel no real attachment, and we are really just passing through.”
