Day 1: Trusting God’s Word Over Our Own Understanding

When Simon Peter had finished a long, fruitless night of fishing, Jesus told him to let down his nets once more. Though Simon’s experience told him it was pointless, he obeyed simply because Jesus said so. This act of trust—prioritizing God’s word over his own knowledge—opened the door to a miraculous catch. Sometimes, what we know or have experienced can keep us from stepping into what God wants to do. True faith means trusting God’s instructions, even when they challenge our expertise or make no sense in the natural. [32:10]

Luke 5:4-7 (NIV):
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.

Day 3: Prioritizing God in Every Area of Life

Simon’s obedience shows us the importance of prioritization—putting God first personally, professionally, and in our partnerships. It’s not enough to say God is important; our actions must reflect that He is our highest priority. When we give God our best, not just our leftovers, He takes care of the rest and reveals our true purpose. [01:00:43]

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Day 4: From Information to Transformation—Applying God’s Word

It’s not enough to simply hear or know God’s word; transformation comes when we apply it. The Holy Spirit forms us to look like Jesus as we participate in the process, moving from information to transformation. [38:12]

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Day 5: God Can Change Your Outcome, Even If He Doesn’t Change Your Season

Sometimes God doesn’t change our circumstances, but He changes our results within them. Like Isaac sowing in a land of famine and reaping a hundredfold, God can bring abundance and breakthrough even in “off seasons.” Don’t limit God by your environment—He is able to supply all you need and more, right where you are. [44:50]

Genesis 26:12-13 (ESV):
And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. The Lord blessed him, and the man became rich, and gained more and more until he became very wealthy.

God’s word is both Logos (His general truth) and Rhema (His specific revelation for our situation). When we receive revelation, seek interpretation, and apply it with wisdom, we position ourselves for breakthrough. Sometimes, God doesn’t change our season, but He changes our outcome. If we work His word with wisdom, we will see nets breaking and carts overflowing, even in unlikely times. This is a call to trust, to obey, and to expect God to do what only He can do—turning our down seasons into seasons of overflow.

There's another thing to have application that supports the information and then it's on God to do the transformation. See, brothers and sisters, the real reality for those of us that are people of faith, the reality is the work, the transformative work of the Holy Spirit is to form us and to look like God.”

“You can keep me where other people are lacking and abundantly supply me with everything I need. Here it is, you all. As we ease up on the text, what's got to happen? “But I've got to trust what he says in the midst of seeing what I see because I see right now he see tomorrow. I see the present. He see the future. I feel the pain, but he got the power. And so now, how I see him will determine how I submit to him. If I see him as a God that's affected by my circumstances and situations, then I'll hold back on him.”

“No, no, no, no, no. I see. See, my philosophy is I don't deny the facts. No, I'm hurt. But I confess my faith. You were wounded for my transgressions. You were bruised for my iniquities. And the chastisement of my peace was upon you. And by your stripes, I am healed. Greater is he that is in me than he that is.”

“And then in the New Testament, Paul was that cat that that that put it all on the table. Paul says, "I'm the least of them." He stayed in a place of humility so he could stay in a place of elevation. Is there anybody in here outside of me know that I don't deserve God's goodness? Come on. I don't deserve the doors that he's open. I don't deserve the ways that he's made.”

“So now what I found out in leading our congregation, um I I was talking to a bishop about this a few days ago. If if you're reading it wrong, how you going to apply it right? And so some stuff I'm saying God said. Did he say it? Or did our culture and traditions tell us this? Because that affects how I see what he says based off of who and what I've been exposed to.”

“So, so, so, so, so Jesus, Jesus is teaching on the coast. The crowd is massive. They're pressing up on him. There's a brother by the name of Simon Peter that's come in from working the night shift, cleaned his nets, about to retire to his house. Jesus says to him, "I have need of your boat." Wait a minute. I just worked the night shift.”

“So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they began and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. Family, I I I want to bring out a couple of nuggets from this particular passage because the reality is this is a prescription to fill your cart. So, it's it's it's it's it's challenging because sometimes what God is talking to you and I about goes against what we know,”

“You crossed all your eyes, dotted all your tees, and have nothing to show for it. Here it is. Then Jesus tells him to do it again, but now do it because I said so. The challenge is now I'm grooving with your teaching, but now you didn't stepped in my field. This what I do for a living. You're a carpenter by trade. Come on. I'm a fisherman by trade.”

“And some of us might be missing a cart filling m moment because of what we know has become greater than what he said. Are y'all here? I'm I'm coming around the corner. And and so and so now it there's there's a theological term, a phrase called the right of first refusal. Just because you give it to him don't mean he got to accept it.”

“What Peter shows us here is that I've prioritized what he said over what I know. And some of us might be missing a cart filling m moment because of what we know has become greater than what he said. Are y'all here? I'm I'm coming around the corner. And and so and so now it there's there's a theological term, a phrase called the right of first refusal.”

“I'm about to upgrade you. You've been catching fish, but I really have created you to catch people. So now what he's saying, watch this. I'm I'm I'm really about to reveal to you your real purpose for existing. You're looking at your career, but I got a call on your life. And I came to talk in my remaining 3 minutes and 41 seconds to the crowd that understands that there's a call on your life.”

“Because God isn't a respector of person, but he is a respector of principle and practice. Somebody say, "I need a word." He put his word over his name. And so what Simon is responding to, remember at the beginning of the chapter, it is Logos word. It is the rationale. It is it is God teaching the word to this group of people that they're dealing with how he thinks and how he sees.”

“Simon operates in a level of wisdom that supersedes natural wisdom because James gives us one depiction of wisdom and that's wisdom that's from man. That's earthly wisdom. Somebody say that's inferior. But then Matthew 7:24 talks about superior wisdom because Jesus says and uses this parable. I liken those that hear my word and do what I say. I liken them to a wise man.”
