Preparing to Possess God's Promises in Your Life
Summary
### Summary
Today, we gather to continue our series titled "Take Possession." This series is about preparing ourselves to receive what God has promised us. We began with a prayer, asking God to speak through me and to use me as His vessel. We prayed for God to save, heal, deliver, and set the captives free. We then moved into the heart of the message, which is about taking possession of what God has for us.
We started by revisiting the concept of preparation. This is your season for preparation. You need to get things in the proper place so that you can be ready to receive what God has for you. Sometimes, you have to make preparations today for what God wants to do in your life tomorrow. If you don't start today, you might miss the window of opportunity. These are Kairos moments, divine opportunities that God coordinates so you can walk into what He has for you without any issues.
Once you are prepared and in position, it's time to go and possess what legally belongs to you. There are spiritual squatters sitting on things that belong to you, and now that you are prepared, it's time to take back what is yours. Ephesians 1:3 tells us that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. It's time to take back your peace, joy, sanity, and mind because what God has for you is yours, and no devil in hell can take it away.
We then discussed the importance of not being discouraged when your good efforts for God's kingdom are met with opposition. The devil does not attack those who are not giving him trouble. Proverbs 21:30 declares that no human wisdom or plan can stand against the Lord. God will ultimately be victorious in what He is getting ready to do in your life. No power can stand in opposition to God's sovereign purpose and His master plan for your life.
We moved on to the story of Rahab, a businesswoman who hid the two spies sent by Joshua. Rahab's actions were part of God's plan to protect His people. God is saying that in the next season of your life, you won't have to say or do anything because He will cover you. Psalms 91:4 says that He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you will find refuge. God is getting ready to hide you in plain sight, to cover and conceal you.
We also talked about changing your perspective. Stop looking at the size of your problems and start looking at the size of your God. God is bigger than your situation, your storm, and your problems. Joshua learned his lesson from the past and sent only two spies instead of twelve. Sometimes, you can't tell everyone your plans because not everyone will understand or support you. Joshua sent the spies secretly to avoid unnecessary opposition.
Finally, we discussed the importance of giving thanks to God. When you give thanks, He gives you the victory. The more you praise Him, the more He opens doors, heals, and makes a way out of no way. God will fight for you, and you won't have to waste a punch or a tear. Deuteronomy 20:4 says that God will go out against your enemies and give you victory.

### Bible Reading
1. Joshua 2:1-11 (KJV)
> "And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to search out the country. And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country. And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were: And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof; And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you."

Day 1: Prepare for Divine Opportunities
Preparation is essential for receiving God's promises. This is your season to get things in order, to align your life with God's plans. Sometimes, the preparations you make today are for the blessings God wants to give you tomorrow. These are Kairos moments, divine opportunities that God orchestrates so you can step into His plans without any hindrance. If you don't start preparing now, you might miss these windows of opportunity. God wants you to be ready, so when the time comes, you can walk into what He has for you without any issues.
[01:01:07]
Isaiah 40:3-5 (ESV): "A voice cries: 'In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.'"
Reflection: What specific areas of your life need preparation to align with God's plans? How can you start preparing today to be ready for His divine opportunities?
Day 2: Claim Your Spiritual Inheritance
Once you are prepared and in position, it's time to claim what legally belongs to you. There are spiritual squatters occupying what is rightfully yours. Ephesians 1:3 tells us that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. It's time to reclaim your peace, joy, sanity, and mind because what God has for you is yours. No force can take away what God has ordained for you. Stand firm and take back what belongs to you, knowing that God has already blessed you with it.
[01:02:27]
Joshua 1:3 (ESV): "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses."
Reflection: What spiritual blessings do you feel have been taken from you? How can you actively reclaim these blessings in your daily life starting today?
Day 3: Opposition as a Sign of Progress
Do not be discouraged when your efforts for God's kingdom face opposition. The devil does not attack those who are not causing him trouble. Proverbs 21:30 declares that no human wisdom or plan can stand against the Lord. God will ultimately be victorious in what He is preparing to do in your life. Opposition is often a sign that you are on the right path. Trust that God's sovereign purpose and master plan for your life will prevail, no matter the challenges you face.
[01:26:51]
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (ESV): "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed."
Reflection: How have you experienced opposition in your efforts to follow God's plan? How can you see these challenges as confirmation that you are on the right path?
Day 4: God's Protective Covering
In the next season of your life, you won't have to say or do anything because God will cover you. Psalms 91:4 says that He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you will find refuge. God is preparing to hide you in plain sight, to cover and conceal you from harm. Just as Rahab hid the spies, God will provide divine protection and guidance. Trust in His covering and know that He is working behind the scenes for your good.
[01:29:56]
Psalm 32:7 (ESV): "You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance."
Reflection: In what areas of your life do you need God's protective covering? How can you trust Him more fully to hide and protect you in these areas?
Day 5: Shift Your Perspective
Stop focusing on the size of your problems and start focusing on the size of your God. God is bigger than any situation, storm, or problem you face. Joshua learned from past mistakes and sent only two spies instead of twelve, understanding that not everyone will understand or support your plans. Sometimes, you need to move in silence and trust that God is bigger than any opposition. Change your perspective and see your challenges through the lens of God's greatness.
[01:14:02]
Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV): "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Reflection: What problems are you currently facing that seem insurmountable? How can you shift your perspective to focus on God's greatness rather than the size of your problems?

You better ask yourself, could this be a connection that God wants to use to bless me before you start thinking that I'm disqualified because of. What I might be doing. You better ask yourself, could this be a divine connection for the next season of my life? Because God is disguising my destiny, amen." [01:25:04]
### Quotes for Members
1. "But God says, though you though they see you and want to have to. They want to have to defend, you're going to have to defend yourself. You won't have to defend yourself because even though they might be aware of what's going on, they are not going to be able to stop what God is getting ready to do in your life. Proverbs 21 and 30 declares that no human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord so people can plan, prepare and do what they desire to do. Fulfilling every craving that they have, even the desire to do horrible, evil stuff to stop the plan of God in your life. But God will ultimately be victorious in what he's getting ready to do in your life. Kings can mobilize their armies, but God will determine whether or not they are victorious. And so there is no power that can stand or succeed in opposition to God's sovereign purpose and his master plan for your life. Touch somebody. You can tell them that God is disguising my destiny and he's about to give me the victory." [01:27:57]
2. "And here's what God is saying to somebody in the house this morning. And that is they're going to be some people who become aware of how you're moving in your next season and they're not going to be pleased and they're going to come and search you out because they're going to try and stop what God is getting ready to do in the next season. But God says in the next season of your life, you won't have to say anything. You won't have to do anything and you won't even have to respond for Psalms 91 in four says that he will cover you with his feathers and under his wings, you will find a refuge. Look at your neighbor and tell them he's covering you. He's covering you. God says, I'm not only am I covering you, but I'm concealing you and I'm protecting you." [01:29:56]
3. "So Joshua says, I've learned my lesson. So I learned my lesson. Rather than send out 12, I'm going to send out two. Yeah. There's some seasons where you got to learn lessons. You can't repeat the same thing that you did back then. So God gives you another opportunity to get it right. So Joshua. Just says, no, we're not about to getting ready to repeat that. No, I'm just going to take two. So the Bible says that he sent out the spies secretly. As I was studying when the Bible says that Joshua sent them out secretly. What he did there was that he didn't tell all of Israel what was going on. He made a decision to do it, do it without telling everybody. There are some times when you are posturing for a move in your life that you just can't tell everybody. Because not everybody is going to understand how God is. Having you to move in this season. Not everybody. Watch this here. It's going to be accepting to what you're getting ready to do in this season. And sometime you cannot let the right hand know what the left hand is doing." [01:17:05]
4. "And so here it is. To give you a brief summary of the points, I want to remind somebody this morning that this is your season for preparation. you've got to get some things in the proper place so that you can be ready to go get what God has for you. See, what God shared with us on last week is that there are some times that you will have to make preparations for today. Amen. For what God wants to do in your life tomorrow. And if you don't get started on what God is trying to do in your life on tomorrow, getting started today, then watch this here. You might miss the window of opportunity because there are some seasons that God has in our life and they are called Kairos moments. And it's these Kairos moments that God coordinate those moments so that you are literally able to walk into what God has for you. Amen. Without any issue and without any problem. And so that's why you have to be in the proper place. You have to be in position. So touch your neighbor and ask them, neighbor, are you in position? So once you're prepared and once you have gotten in position, now it's time to go possess. In other words, you have to go in and get what legally belongs to you. There are some spiritual squatters. If you heard me mention that on last week, that there's some spiritual squatters that literally are sitting on things that belongs to you. And there's some time, amen, and there's a season where now that you have been prepared and now you have gone through the preparation and now that you are in position, now it's time for you to go possess what the possess back from the spiritual squatters, the things that God has for you." [01:02:27]
5. "And so here it is. Phil Jackson. Phil Jackson, because of Tex Winters, now has five championships with the Bulls, and he has another six championships with the Lakers. So 11 total championships. So I would go on to say that he's probably the GOAT in the coaching area as it relates to NBA basketball. He's good. But here's the thing. As important as the coaches are. As important as the players are. They're the one getting all the credit for winning the championship, and they should. The truth of the matter. Watch this. They don't win the games. They don't win all the championships without one important person. That's the scout. Nobody give Jerry Cross his proper due. You're probably saying, who is that? That's the one that saw Michael Jordan because he was scouting him and say, I got to have this brother on my team. That's the one that saw all the other players and began to put the pieces of the puzzle together for the Bulls to become who the Bulls were. And this is the person that spent countless hours. Watch this here. Scouting other teams. See, the truth of the matter is, if it's not for the scout, a lot of teams that went on to win the championship." [01:07:54]
