#PrayerIsDialogue
“``prayer is communion, meaning two way conversation. It's not just the r and r, request and receive. Rather, hear from God first. It primes our heart, it primes our mind to get into his desires when we hear his word. Two ways to do that that you have listed on your notes. Know your position. In other words, remember your position in Jesus and then also remember his promises.”

#StandFirmInChrist
“But the first thing I wanted to point out in verse one is actually Paul reminds us that we stand firm in the Lord. He's now downplaying circumstances, and what he's saying is, yes, we recognize circumstances that cause us to possibly be tempted to be anxious, but don't let the circumstance become your anchor. Your anchor is Christ. Stand firm in him, not into the situation or not into what the world can offer or your self.”

#LiveWithGentleness
“That word in some of your translations might be gentle, it might be grace, but reasonableness actually means gentleness, graciousness, and yielding. In a biblical definition of reasonableness means it describes a person who does not demand their own way or fight for every single right. Instead of reacting with anger and harshness during arguments, a reasonable person responds with calm, strength, mercy, grace.”

#GospelBringsReconciliation
“The bad news is is that because of free will, we don't choose God's desires. That means there's sin, and that means God is holy and sin has to be separated from God. As sinners, we are naturally separated from God. That's bad news. Then there's good news. This is the gospel. The good news is that Jesus, God does not want to be separated for eternity from us. So he sent Jesus, the son, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.”
