#PrayerAlwaysOn
“I've got it wrong because prayer is not an event. Prayer is the presence with you twenty four seven. Prayer is him with you in all of those bits that you struggle with in your workplace. Prayer is that relationship that is frustrating or difficult. Prayer is your home life when it's noisy and you just need some peace. You can so easily just say, Jesus, here I am, Lord.”

#PrayerIsBreath
“There's a humility in praying. And just as Joanna has said, you know, when you pray and and the word and the bible also says if you pray. And I remember the times when I'm really tired or I'm distracted. Am I humble enough to say, god, I need you? Am I humble enough to come to him and speak to him? Jesus often disappeared to lonely places. I've got prayer wrong in my head, friends. So if I said to you, hey, everybody. I'm going to, Scotland to pray on a mountaintop, And I drive all the way there, I don't think about God. And I'm not talking to him. I'm not including. But I get to the mountaintop, and I get out. And I start speaking to him because, in effect, prayer is the breath of relationship.”

#PerfectInHisEyes
“God isn't your angry father. He's your perfect dad. You're not his naughty child. You're his perfect son, his perfect daughter. When he looks at you, he sees you through the lens of the cross, and he sees perfection. How dare we, when we look at each other, see anything less than perfection? You aren't the failing disappointment in the family. You're the treasure of his heart. And God isn't your critical slave driver. He's your everlasting lover.”

#PrayerNotPerformance
“how long do you pray for? And and actually, the length of our prayers is not a measure of success. And so we have to undo some of our thinking. I have to do undo some of my thinking about prayer. But the difficulty is I carry a hidden assumption about you and your prayer life. So when I look at you, I always assume that you find prayer really, really easy. Is that true? And I always assume that you pray far longer than me, and I always assume that you're probably an expert at prayer, whereas I'm I I struggle with with prayer sometimes, and I'll explain In my mind, sometimes I've confused prayer with hard work, a task to be performed rather than a person to be explored.”

#SurrenderToGod
“We have so much to learn. Prayer is the presence of god. Are you willing to surrender your priorities to God? Because God isn't your angry father.

#ListenDontLecture
“And Lucy looks at me and she's, from an early age, been switched off church be because of what she was involved in. Her parents were involved in, really kind of she was pushed at a young age, into a religion. she said to me, wouldn't it be funny, Karen, if you arranged a time to speak to me every day and told me the same thing every day? And she said, what if you only came to me when you've got a problem? And so I laughed and said, yeah. But what if I talked at you for thirty minutes but didn't spend time listening to you? What if I couldn't fit you into my busy schedule, Lucy? And so prayer is a bit of a barometer of our relationship with god. It doesn't necessarily create relationship, but often reveals the condition.”

#VulnerabilityInPrayer
“And so prayer is a bit of a barometer of our relationship with god. It doesn't necessarily create relationship, but often reveals the condition. And and I love the word that Joanna used. Joanna, that word vulnerability. You see, I'm struggling with prayer. I'm struggling because I know God is calling me into an intimacy with him. He's calling me into a depth of relationship where I can share the pain in my heart with the love in his heart. And prayer is an exchange, and it's an exchange of my moldy life with his beautiful love. And I struggle.”

#TentOfMeeting
“And when you look at the lives of great heroes like Moses, Moses set up a tent of meeting outside the the the the city, if you like, and he would go into that place. When Moses first met God in Exodus chapter three, he didn't wanna look at God. He couldn't bear God being near him because he was so aware of his dysfunction. So why would you have God near you? But by chapter thirty, thirty chapters later, Moses is positioning himself in a tent. And guess what's happening in that tent? God is speaking to Moses.”
