#ChristTheMediator
“``What is God's redeeming work? God's redeeming work is a vital redeeming work because there is a gulf fixed between you and God, between all of us and God, between all peoples and God. No matter where they live on the planet, there's this great gulf fixed between God and man. And God's work was to bridge that uncrossable chasm, and it was accomplished by the divine bridge who is the mediator, that one mediator, Christ Jesus. And he laid down his life. He gave himself a ransom for all. Again, get the context, all peoples, all peoples, all kinds of people.”

#TurnToChristToday
“So if you're here this morning and you realize you're a sinner, lost, doomed, doomed to an eternal punishment, Jesus gave himself a ransom for sinners just like you. The testimony of who Jesus is and what he came to do has come to you in due time. It's just the right time this morning. We prayed this morning for you that you would be saved today. So won't you turn from your sin, all the efforts you'd make in trying to save yourself? Trust Christ and his work. Call upon him today to save you. This is why Christ came. This is why the gospel goes forth. It is for this that we pray.”

#PrayerIsMissionFuel
“We pray for all peoples. Prayer, in other words, is the fuel or the engine of missions, and that prayer spans the globe. Isn't it isn't it wonderful that this morning in this service, at this time at, you know, 10:30, 11:00 in in the morning in The United States Of America, we can be praying for ministry that's going on in Ghana and in the Eastern east of us by a few thousand miles, and we can pray for ministry that's going on in Malaysia a few thousand miles in the other direction all at the same time. Prayer is something to be global, spans the globe, but it's also local, local. Let's not miss that.”

#PrayerFirstInChurch
“So all that the church is to do in its worship, its witness, all that it is to do, the first thing that must be first is prayer. Prayer of all kinds, prayer for all kinds of people, that people of all kinds may be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. You know, in our men's prayer meeting this morning, we prayed for that very thing.”

#PrayerShapesLife
“Why do we do this? Why is this so important? To what end should this be first? Well, there are three reasons that are given here in the text. Putting first things first, first of all, impacts our Christian way of life, our Christian way of life. He says in verse two, he says, pray for kings and all who are in authority that we may lead a life. We may lead a life. Now I I zero in on that to point out that how often do we think about the impact that prayer makes on our way of life just in general? Do we do we realize do we consider prayer to be as impactful upon our way of life as, for example, the inflation rate or the size and comfort of our home or the outcome of midterm elections.”

#PrioritizePrayer
“You see, we we tend to elevate those things, don't we? We tend to elevate those things too high, too highly. We we we think of those things as having a huge impact on our lives and you man if we if the inflation rate doesn't come down or if the gas prices don't come down or if or if a bunch of loony tunes win in the midterm elections and and my life is going to be hugely impacted. But do we realize that putting first things first can make an impact on our Christian way of life?”

#PrayerEnablesWitness
“Now here's the thing. Paul says we wanna pray, put prayer first all peoples, for kings, and all who are in authority so that we may lead the kind of life that allows for a public witness that is lived with dignity and seriousness about the reality of life. Well, a third a third reason why we want to make prayer first things first, not only because it impacts our Christian way of life and our Christian quality of life, but because it facilitates our Christian witness to true life to true life.”

#GodsDesireForPeoples
“It's God's desire. He desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now get this, if you started to fall asleep, please wake up so you hear this right. The desire is for all peoples. The reason I point that out is because the word translated men in verse four is the same word that's translated men at the end of verse one. The desire is for all peoples. In other words, the desire here is not expressed every person, not for every person, but for all peoples.”
