#PrayerForStrength
“Just because he calls us to pray doesn't guarantee that God is going to remove the situation. It does not guarantee that he's going to bring relief. But James does imply the promise of strength, God's strength to endure the suffering. So on your sheet, I hope you have a sheet this morning, you'll take notes whether on that sheet or on journal or digital notes, whichever way, real faith finds strength in troubles by taking it to the Lord in prayer. By taking it to the Lord in prayer. That is where strength is found. It is not our strength, it's not the strength of our companion, it's not the strength of our family, it's not the strength of our friends,”

#PraiseInTheStorm
“Well, I think James is doing this intentionally. I think God through James is doing this intentionally that, hey, yes, there's troubles all around us. We're we're surrounded by troubles. You get done with one and there's another one waiting on you on you around the corner. It's always there. So he says, but what about your praises? What about the things that you can rejoice about? What about the blessings in your life? They're still all around you too. And it's so maybe it's just me, maybe I talk about this a lot because I deal with this myself, but it's so easy to let the storm clouds surround you”

#FaithBeyondCircumstance
“And she responded, she said, you know what pastor? If I were able to ask God one thing when I was born, it would be that I was born blind just as I was. And he said, why is that? He was confused as any of us would be. She said, because, you know, my blindness has not caused me to caused me to take a step back. And what she said was this, when I get to heaven, the first face I'll see is that of my savior. You know, she did not let her circumstances get the best of her. She did not let her circumstances hold her back from God's mission and purpose in life.”

#RefinersFireGrowth
“It could be that god's taken us through the refiner's fire, that he wants to burn off some impurities, some things in our life that doesn't need to be there that's holding us back. Maybe things that we think are good that God's trying to show us it is not good because it's getting in the way of something that's best. And in doing so, we can have the same type of attitude as miss Crosby, and look at the positives, and look for the blessings even in the midst of trials, or we can be bitter, resentful, and it will hold us back. And by the way, we're in this together. If it hold hold you back, you're holding us back too.”

#BringItToTheLord
“Whatever your situation is, we must take it to the Lord. Too many times we try to endure the problem or endure suffering on our own, in our own strength. It's not within our ability. And when we come to that realization, we surrender to that truth that we can't do it ourselves, that we are dependent upon the Lord. I think then and only then will we finally be able to come and bring it to the lord in prayer. But we we we bring it to him first thing. Notice what James says we're to do, he should pray. Now, let me let me make a note here, make sure we're clear on something.”

#InPersonWorship
“``And you've heard me say it before and I'll say it again, you know, I thought it was a brilliant it wasn't new it wasn't original with me, but I thought it was brilliant is you can worshiping from home through your TV is like watching a fireplace from your TV. You can see the flames, but you can't feel the warmth. And, again, I'm grateful for that opportunity, but if we have the ability, we should choose to be here and be here. God designed us to need one another, and James is showing us that here in this passage when we are going through the difficulties and trials of life, we have an obligation to one another, and we find strength together.”

#ChurchFamilyMatters
“I remember talking to a lady who is from orthodox faith, who did not go to church. She said, I don't feel like I have to go to church or be a part of a church to be good with God. Well, technically, I guess that's true, but practically, it's not. Because I dare to say that you not be a healthy growing Christian apart from the family of God. You you cannot accomplish the mission and do what God has called us to do. All throughout scripture, all throughout the New Testament, we see that God designed the church and includes all of us. We are the church.”

#TogetherWeGrow
“He designed it for us to be together. He desires for us to be together. How can we be going against God's word and his desires and think that we're good with God? So, yes, being a church member, being a part of the church does not make you a Christian, but it does lead you lead you to grow as a Christian, to be a healthy Christian, and be the person that God wants you to be. I've heard all kinds of other things, you know, like, well, God's everywhere. I can worship God on the open road, riding my motorcycle, on the lake, fishing. And basically, those are cop outs to do what you wanna do instead.”
