Ephesians 3:20 puts a challenge and a responsibility in front of God’s people: ask God, imagine with God, and trust his power to do immeasurably more. God’s “more” is not a get rich quick promise or a blank check for whatever people happen to want. God’s more starts by noticing where his love is already showing up, where he is already moving, and then daring to believe that he can spill over beyond what anybody could collect or contain.
God’s immeasurably more comes from the wealth of his glory, through the strength of his Spirit, and out of the wide, long, high, and deep love of Christ. God’s love is the ground where roots sink down and the foundation where lives stand. Prayer, then, is not mainly about bringing God a problem list. Prayer is first and foremost God-centered, Jesus-connected, and awake to the places where the Shepherd is already leading.
God’s work through Ask and Imagine has put real points on the board for the kingdom. God has provided a home for sixteen vulnerable girls in Peru, brought one hundred people to baptism across five churches, doubled Muskego Feeds to two hundred thousand meals and twelve hundred volunteers, renewed rooms for ministry, raised up teenagers who lead, grown discipleship and generosity, and opened everyday relationships through gatherings and missional communities. God did not merely make church activity busier. God made hungry people, kids, families, guests, leaders, and neighborhoods part of a bigger story of his love.
The contrast between celebration and settled confidence matters at the end of this season. Vince Lombardi’s word to Travis Williams, “Act like you’ve been there before,” does not kill joy after a touchdown. That word turns joy into the confidence of someone who knows the game is not over. God’s people can dance over kingdom wins while carrying forward what prayer has taught them: God is able, God is already at work, and more points can still go on the board.
Paul closes Ephesians with battle language, armor, evil, and the call to stand. Paul then brings the whole thing down to prayer. Prayer is the playing field. Prayer is where truth, faith, salvation, God’s Word, and readiness for peace become lived realities. Paul’s call is simple enough to remember and big enough to reshape everyday life: pray every time, every day, every way.

Key Takeaways
- 1. God’s more grows from his love God’s abundance is never detached from God’s character. The immeasurably more of Ephesians 3 rises from Christ’s love, not from human ambition dressed up in religious words. Asking and imagining become faithful when they follow the trail of love God is already leaving in the world. [38:23]
- 2. Prayer starts with God, not problems Prayer can bring real needs, daily bread, forgiveness, and help in trials before God. Prayer still begins with God’s kingdom coming and God’s will being done. That starting point changes prayer from trying to recruit God into personal plans into joining the work God is already doing. [51:20]
- 3. Kingdom wins deserve real celebration God’s work among hungry people, vulnerable children, baptisms, families, and new leaders should not be treated like routine religious activity. Celebration names the goodness of what God has done. Mature joy also carries those wins forward with confidence that prayer has brought God’s people onto the field before. [49:55]
- 4. Prayer is the playing field Paul’s armor of God is not a set of ideas to admire from a distance. Prayer is where God’s people actually stand against darkness, receive strength, and stay alert for one another. A life outside prayer has not yet stepped onto the field where the real battle is happening.
