Eternity is not found in the stuff people build, buy, chase, or swear is going to be there forever. Christ, His Word, and the fruit that comes from His Word are the only things that will last. God has placed eternity in the heart of man, a divine purpose and a longing that nothing under the sun can satisfy. That longing is not there to make people chase more things. That longing is there to pull hearts toward Jesus.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 makes it plain that God has made everything beautiful in its time, yet man still cannot fully grasp His plan from beginning to end. That limitation calls for faith, relationship, and a posture that asks God, “What are You saying?” The heart cannot live off appearances, feelings, cute faces, long hair, or being booed up and calling it forever. The heart has to consult God, deal with self first, and be sound before linking up with somebody who does not know Christ.
Love is the thing that lasts because love drove Christ to Calvary. Christ endured mocking, lies, spit, ridicule, and a death He did not deserve because love would not let Him come down. Love also shows up in obedience, in honoring God, in loving the brothers and sisters sitting nearby, and in refusing to let problems become bigger than the love of Christ.
Eternity turns this present life into a dress rehearsal. God does not call imperfect people to pretend they walk on water. God calls imperfect people to holiness, to point others toward Him, and to live as pilgrims passing through. This world is not the believer’s home, and the chaos from the White House to the outhouse cannot become the thing that shapes the heart.
The Word provides the hard reset when the mind gets crowded with sickness, bills, loss, offense, fear, and all the shoulda, coulda, wouldas. Jesus is the burden bearer, the lifter of the soul, the rock, the peace, and the all in all. Faith has to stand on what God said, especially when the noise dies down and the dark place feels lonely. Christ remains there, keeps His promise, and holds His people by a love that will stand the test of time.

Key Takeaways
- 1. Only Christ and His fruit last Christ outlasts every building, relationship, possession, and season that feels permanent. The Word of God remains when everything else burns up and passes away. Souls touched by that Word carry eternal weight because God planted eternity in the human heart. [03:43]
- 2. Eternity creates a longing for God God placed a deep hunger in people that earthly things cannot satisfy. That hunger is meant to build relationship with Him now, not merely prepare for heaven later. The heart finds its right posture when it wants Christ more than answers, control, or temporary comfort. [07:48]
- 3. Love would not leave Calvary Christ’s love endured what human strength would have rejected. The cross reveals that love is more than affection, words, or convenience when life gets hard. The love of God gives believers a pattern for obedience, sacrifice, and staying faithful under pressure. [05:27]
- 4. This life is a dress rehearsal Eternity puts present worship, obedience, and holiness in proper perspective. God does not demand a performance of perfection, but He does call for a life that points beyond self. Praise offered now trains the heart to treasure Christ before seeing Him face to face. [18:32]
- 5. Jesus is the hard reset Jesus resets a mind trapped in fear, frustration, and the noise of life. The Word renews judgment when feelings cloud the heart and circumstances feel too heavy. Faith rests in Christ’s power and provision because nobody but God can truly turn a life around.
