Are you seeing the correlation? Are you seeing the dependence? It is because we have a confirmed citizenship in heaven, we can stand firm. It's because our lowly bodies and all that comes with it will be transformed to a glorious body like Christ, we stand firm. Because Jesus Christ has the power and authority to put everything under him. Therefore, we stand firm. Are you seeing the correlation here? It's not just stand firm because, well, you're a good Christian. It's not just stand firm because you've gone to church all your life. It's not just stand firm because you read the Bible every morning. You can't stand firm on your own merits. You can't. [01:04:42] (41 seconds)  #NotByMyMerit

It's not just stand firm because, well, you're a good Christian. It's not just stand firm because you've gone to church all your life. It's not just stand firm because you read the Bible every morning. because of Jesus Christ, we have the absolute confirmation that our citizenship is in heaven, that this failed, flawed body will be glorified to be like Christ and that Jesus has the authority over all things. Therefore, stand firm. Yeah, that's the motive. That's what allows us to stand firm. [01:05:07] (48 seconds)  #StandFirmInChrist

You don't stand firm just because you're a soldier. You stand firm because of all the things that we read in chapter 3 verses 20 and 21. Our citizenship is in heaven. Our bodies will be transformed to be like Christ and Jesus has everything under his control. So now you can stand firm. Pretty awesome. You don't stand firm because of you or anything you can do or any ability you have. It's all based on Christ. It starts to become possible. [01:10:58] (34 seconds)  #StandByChristNotSelf

It's also interesting to note that Paul does not identify who was right or who was wrong because it's conflict and conflict hurts the church. It's not about who's right or wrong. It's about reconciliation and so here's what happens. Paul says encourage them so that their attitudes are in agreement with the Lord and then the conflict will go away. If we can focus on aligning our personalities our passions our desires who we are with the Lord we will be unified and that's important to hear. [01:12:42] (42 seconds)  #UnityThroughReconciliation

It's the idea of being willing to give up one's personal rights for the benefit of somebody else. Do you hear that giving up one's personal rights to show consideration for others but here's the other kicker it's not just for your loved ones or your best friend or the people you like or the people in your circle of influence it's for everyone yes that obnoxious family member that neighbor that co-worker that you have a nickname for it's for the the person down the street that is in opposition with you it's for the stranger that you've never met it's for the person that is persecuting you to be demonstrated to everyone [01:18:31] (50 seconds)  #RadicalConsideration

have you ever felt like the things that you worry about strangle you maybe they pull you in opposite directions you really wish you this but then this pulls you away and yeah it's it's constant conflict internal and Paul says don't be anxious don't worry about these things rather take these before the throne of God you have the opportunity as a child of God to bring all of your struggles all of your hurts all of your heartache all of your problems before an almighty God do it with thanksgiving do it with appreciation that that heart maintaining a heart of joy but we do all of those things and he's made it available to us [01:20:56] (43 seconds)  #PrayNotWorry

this peace of God God is like a sentinel not just a soldier standing a post this is a sentinel a guardian who does not move does not sleep does not change does not waver and God's peace that sentinel stands between the world and opposition and circumstances and it stands between all of those things and your heart and mind and it stands there protecting and guarding and caring for your heart and mind [01:24:09] (35 seconds)  #PeaceSentinel

I know when the Holy Spirit pours peace out in my heart or my mind when I'm struggling with a decision or a situation or a circumstance and I'm praying patiently and passionately and saying Lord please navigate and the peace of God pours into my heart and in my life and it gives me a solution it points me in a direction maybe it's counseling with another believer that gives me advice maybe it's just understanding that I need to let go of something but there's a peace of God that comes into my heart and into my mind that changes me [01:24:58] (32 seconds)  #SpiritLedPeace
