#ServeWhereYouAre
“So now what can an invalid do in terms of ministry? Oh, yes. We can pray. Not so. she said, no. No. There's more to this that I can do. And as her husband's call it, fame spread and as he wrote more, she said, I can get these books into the hands of pastors who are unable to afford them. And so through her, the book fund was established. And thousands, not just a few, thousands of pastors got material that helped them in their preparation for messages as they preached. When you're in a tough situation, you can perhaps remember missus Spurgeon who was an invalid who impacted the world. Right? chains are not there to bind us. Don't let your circumstances prevent you from serving god wherever you are.”

#GodUsesYouToo
“she said, no. Don't let your circumstances prevent you from serving god wherever you are. The same god who used Moses and his rod and David and his sling and Paul and his chains can use you and you and you and you right where you are. That's right.”

#PrayForDiscernment
“Daphne would tell you and some of the others might remember my story when I say, one of the prayers that I prayed virtually daily as I led the church was, lord, give me discernment. Lord, give me discernment that I might know right from wrong. Right? That I might know a better way than just the good way. And Paul prays that we might have knowledge and insight to be able to discern the best. So here's your test for the day. Will my behavior, will your behavior make others stumble? And secondly, will my behavior make me feel ashamed if Jesus came back now? Yeah. Yeah. Tough questions today, but important questions that we might reflect Jesus Christ.”

#FruitfulInTrials
“Paul also prays that they might be fruitful. So I don't know how many of you heard have heard of a fruit tree saying, look at look at everything I'm doing, guys. See what I'm doing. No. A fruit tree allows the life giving sap in it to produce fruit. Right? And Paul is praying that we might be fruitful. Not that we would stand up and say, see what I've done, right. But rather see the fruit. So Paul's chains advance the gospel. Have you ever thought about it when you're in tough times? Things aren't going the way you'd like them to go. But actually that's the time when you could be advancing the gospel.”
