#DebtPaidByJesus
“``Church, we all had a debt we could not pay, and it was a debt that was gonna send us to hell. If we can't be real in church, where can be we'd be real at? There's only two places, heaven or hell. There's only two people, redeemed or unredeemed. Paul was trying to make this example to Philemon and notice what he says, to say nothing of you owing me even your own self. Paul was reminding Philemon that he was the one who shared the gospel with him. That Philemon came to Christ the same way Onesimus did through God's grace. So Philemon didn't really owe Paul the debt, he owed it to Jesus.”

#ForgivenSoWeForgive
“This brings me to my first point in my teaching this morning. Knowing Jesus forgave us, allows us to follow his example and forgive others. Knowing Jesus forgave us allows us to follow his example and forgive others. If you sit here and say I can't forgive them, you don't understand. You don't know what I've been through. You don't know what they've done to me. What have you done to God? And he has forgiven you. How do you not give that same grace to other people? This is exactly what Paul is reminding Philemon of.”

#SeedOfGrace
“Here's my final thought on this teaching. When our life is over and we fall to the earth as a seed, let it be a seed of grace that the world may be blessed by our service to Jesus. Let me say it again. When our life is over and we fall to the earth as a seed, let it be a seed of grace that the world may be blessed by our service to Jesus.”

#GetRightWithGod
“Church, the only way grace does not flow right is if we are not right with god. If you're here this morning and you're going, I can't forgive, Julian, you don't understand. I can't. Well, maybe you need to get back to the lord and say, lord, change my heart. Remember where you came from. Remember what he brought you from. The only way grace does not flow is if we're not right with him. So I have a question for you as we wrap this thing up. Are you right with him today? Are you in a right place to receive from him in order to be his servant and to serve those around you today? If you're not, now is the time to fix it.”

#GraceBeyondMeasure
“But this is how the the the lord works. We can be doing good. And then the lord reveals something to us that we're not doing good through the holy spirit. See, God loved you so much. He sent his son Jesus to die for you. Jesus loved you so much that he went to the cross for you. But because of his love being so great, he said, I won't leave you alone. I will send the other, the comforter, the holy spirit. He will lead you and guide you into all truth. You see, that's what we need this morning church. We need to be reminded of the fact that we have received grace beyond measure. And I've been sharing with you guys over the last couple weeks about unforgiveness. How can you not extend grace and forgiveness to someone when you yourself have already received it?”

#JesusOurAdvocate
“Because Jesus intercedes for God with God for us. Christ is our intercessor. After the resurrection, he ascended to the to the right hand, the throne of God where he intercedes on our behalf. Now I know you guys, probably not as well as I should, but I know you guys because you're good people. You never ever been to court. You never had to stand before a judge. But if you did, you would have a lawyer, an advocate to go before the judge and say, your honor, all those things are true and and they are definitely guilty. But there's something else. There's a new piece of evidence here that needs to be brought to light. They've made amends. Jesus has done that for us.”

#GodsRichesAtChristsExpense
“And this morning, I entitled this message forgiveness grounded in grace. We've been talking about that. This whole letter is surrounding about forgiveness and redemption, restoration. And I don't know if you've ever heard it before or if anyone's ever shared it with you, but acronym for grace. Right? G r a c e, grace. God's riches at Christ expense. Everything that we receive from God, all of his his wonderful blessings that he pours out on us are due to the fact that Jesus went to the cross to pay for our sin.”

#ForgiveEvenWhenHurting
“Put yourself in Philemon's place. How would you like that? Can you just feel the screws being tightened down as you go, man, I don't wanna forgive this guy. The last thing I wanna do is give this guy forgiveness. You don't understand, Paul. You don't know what he did to me. And so he's like us. Now, of course, I'm making an assumption from reading it. But at the same time, I'm trying to put myself in that place and go, how would I act knowing somebody did me wrong? You don't understand. I have every right to be upset. You do. But we're gonna look at it this morning on why we shouldn't.”
