“Rather, we are all invited to this kind of integrated listening and pursuit of faith and discovery and understanding and revelation of who God is. And so friendly, let's not take the easy way through church life. Let's dig in and seek something more and deeper, more robust, and frankly, harder. Something challenging, something that brings growing, and may we discover a faith that is surprising and adventurous.”

“And so Jesus renames Simon, son of Jonah, Peter, which was not a common name in Greek or in, Hebrew or Aramaic, but he calls him Rocky. And he says, because of this pursuit, because of this revelation you've received, because of this confession, not simply because he was something special and different and unattainable. Rather, we are all invited to this kind of integrated listening and pursuit of faith and discovery and understanding and revelation of who God is.”

“But it was in those relationships, in that time of building, that we got to places where we could talk about faith and Jesus in a way that didn't make them go, I'll never talk to you again. That's just fine. I think who do the people say Jesus is, is a good invitation to us to know that to be a follower of Jesus is to be engaged with the world around us.”
