Day 1: When the Spirit Says “Separate Me”

Day 5: “The Work Is Not Done”

Paul kept preaching, even in cities that tried to silence him. Economic strain, political division, and generational shifts don’t negate God’s command to labor. The kingdom advances not when conditions are perfect, but when believers refuse to let weariness dilute their mission. Steadfastness is its own testimony. [18:11]

Sermon Summary

Acts 13 starts with the church ministering to the Lord, fasting, praying, and hearing the Holy Ghost say, “Separate me Barnabas and Saul.” The Holy Ghost sends them out for a work already appointed by God, and that work brings them into conflict right away. Paul was stoned, dragged out of the city, and left for dead, yet he kept preaching and even returned to the same places where he had been persecuted. Paul returned not to fight his enemies, but to strengthen disciples who needed help standing firm. Much tribulation is part of entering the kingdom of God, but tribulation does not have the final word.

Moses suffered rejection. Stephen was stoned. The apostles were persecuted. Jesus suffered on the cross. No cross, no crown. Difficult times, division, hard economies, and discouragement cannot stop Christians from standing on God’s word. The truth must still be spoken, the gospel must still be spread, and the Holy Spirit must still lead God’s people. The call to vote is presented as one way people should be bold, informed, registered, and unwilling to be fooled by lies. Christ died, got up from the grave, and still speaks to the spirit of His people.
