Day 1: Jesus is the Firm Foundation for Our Lives

When the storms of life come—trials, disappointments, and suffering—there is only one foundation that will not fail: Jesus Christ. Building your life on Him means trusting in His strength, goodness, and faithfulness, even when everything else feels unstable or uncertain. The world offers shifting sands, but Christ is the unshakeable rock who holds you fast and will not let you go. If you feel like your life is falling apart, you are invited to plant the house of your life upon Christ, who is trustworthy and steadfast through every trial. [07:40]

Matthew 7:24-25 (ESV)
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”

Reflection: In what area of your life do you feel most unstable or anxious right now? What would it look like to intentionally trust Jesus as your foundation in that specific area today?

Day 2: God Hears, Loves, and Answers the Prayers of His People

God delights in the prayers of His children. He hears you when you call, treasures you deeply, and responds to your needs—though not always in the way you expect. Even when you feel discouraged, overwhelmed by sin, or burdened by circumstances, God’s love for you remains steadfast. He bends His ear to your cries, treasures you as His beloved, and answers according to His perfect wisdom and timing. You are never alone or ignored; you are cherished and heard by your heavenly Father. [43:16]

Daniel 9:20-23 (ESV)
“While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the LORD my God for the holy hill of my God, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice. He made me understand, speaking with me and saying, ‘O Daniel, I have now come out to give you insight and understanding. At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision.’”

Reflection: When was the last time you honestly poured out your heart to God in prayer? Take a moment today to bring your deepest need or longing before Him, trusting that He hears and treasures you.

Day 3: God’s Perfect Plan and Timing Fulfilled in Jesus

God’s redemptive plan unfolds with perfect timing, even when it is mysterious or difficult to understand. The prophecy of the “seventy weeks” in Daniel points to a divinely determined period culminating in the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, who fulfills every promise and brings about the end of rebellion, the atonement for sin, and everlasting righteousness. God’s timing is not always ours, but He is always working for our good and His glory, orchestrating history to bring about salvation through Christ. [46:46]

“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”

Day 4: Jesus’ Sacrifice Brings Complete Forgiveness and Everlasting Righteousness

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus accomplished everything necessary for your salvation. He ended rebellion, put a stop to sin, atoned for iniquity, and brought everlasting righteousness to all who trust in Him. There is nothing you need to add to His finished work; you are accepted, forgiven, and made righteous in God’s sight because of Jesus alone. This gospel reality frees you to live out your new identity with gratitude and joy, knowing that your standing before God is secure and permanent. [53:30]

Day 5: The Gospel Calls Us to Hope, Mission, and Endurance

The story of Daniel and the fulfillment in Jesus remind us that suffering and evil are temporary, and God’s promises are sure. Jesus, the anointed one, was “cut off” for us, securing our forgiveness and hope. As citizens of heaven living in a world that is not our home, we are called to endure trials with hope, to reorient our lives around Christ, and to join God’s mission of reaching our neighbors and the nations with the gospel. Our suffering is not permanent; our King is victorious, and our future is secure in Him. [01:09:29]

“But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.”

Reflection: Who in your life needs to hear the hope of the gospel this week? How can you intentionally encourage or share Christ with them, knowing that Jesus has secured the victory?

Life is full of storms—trials, uncertainties, and moments when it feels like everything is falling apart. The question is: what foundation are you building your life upon? Jesus is the only rock strong enough to hold you fast when the rains fall and the winds blow. He is trustworthy, steadfast, and good. When you plant your life on Him, you find a foundation that will not collapse, no matter what comes your way.

As a church, we are called to be a people who pray, who care for one another, and who reach out to our community and the nations. Whether it’s praying for our team in Southeast Asia, celebrating baptisms, or collecting food for those in need, we are living out the love of Christ in tangible ways. But our greatest need—and the world’s greatest need—is not just physical, but spiritual. Only Jesus can nourish the soul and bring true restoration.

Turning to Daniel 9, we see God’s blueprint for redemption. Daniel’s prayer for his people is met with a response from God through the angel Gabriel, who lays out a prophetic vision—one of the most challenging passages in all of Scripture. Yet, at its heart, this vision is about God’s perfect plan, fulfilled in Jesus Christ. The “seventy weeks” prophecy is not just a calendar to decipher, but a pointer to Christ, the Anointed One, who would be “cut off” for our sake. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus brings an end to rebellion, atones for iniquity, ushers in everlasting righteousness, and fulfills all that the law and prophets anticipated.

God’s timing is perfect, even when we don’t understand it. “The response that Daniel is about to receive is not what he's expecting. “May I caution you against taking numbers literally when you are interpreting apocalyptic literature. Apocalyptic literature relies heavily on symbolic and figurative language to communicate its message. Sometimes when you're reading apocalyptic literature like the end of Daniel, like parts of Ezekiel, like parts of the book of Revelation, the numbers are not literal, they are figurative or symbolic of something else.”

“Maybe you're today and someone has sinned against you egregiously, you have been wounded deeply. May I say to you, you are to forgive them. But Kenneth, you don't know what they've done. No, I don't, but God does, and God has forgiven you of the Atlantic Ocean amount of sins that you've forgiven. Let me use Paul's words: forgive one another just as God in Christ forgave you.”

“These seventy sevens that we see in the text of Daniel 9 represent a complete and divinely determined period of time in redemptive history that finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Let me say it like this: Galatians 4:4, but when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son. At the seventieth seven, at the perfect time, God's perfect plan was to send his perfect Son who came into this world to fulfill God's perfect prophecy as foretold by the angel Gabriel.”

“Before you and I come to faith in Jesus, we are rebels. We have rebelled against God. We do not seek him. We are enemies of God. But the Messiah, Daniel 9:24, is going to bring rebellion to an end. Here's my take: these are not things that are going to happen at the end of the world in a future seven-year tribulation. These are things that have already been accomplished in the first coming of Jesus through his perfect life, his death on the cross, his victorious resurrection from the dead on the third day. Jesus has done everything necessary to secure your salvation.”

“There's nothing you need to add to it, no work that you have to do in order to earn God's favor, to receive God's acceptance. No, you're accepted in Jesus. God shows you favor through his favored Son who lives inside of you. This is a gospel-soaked reality that we're seeing here in Daniel chapter 9.”

“God is pointing Daniel and the people of God forward to the coming Messiah who would be killed, who would be cut off. What's gonna look like apparent defeat, we know as we read our Bibles is actually the ultimate victory for those who trust in him. For it is through the Messiah, the anointed one being cut off, that he would accomplish those six things that we just covered back in verse 24.”

“Jesus came so that through him and by him alone you can have eternal life and forgiveness of sin. And then he adopts you into his family, he connects you with his people, he puts his Holy Spirit inside of you who gives you gifts, and you get to use these gifts that he's given to you to serve his church, to build his body, to love the community, to tell the world about who Jesus is and what he has done for you in the gospel.”

“All that you would say, Jesus, you are my number one. I love my spouse, I love my kids, I love my community, I love my sports team, but you surpass them all. That's what God is calling us to as followers of Jesus, isn't it? To reorient our lives around this perfect Messiah of God where he takes first place in your heart and your life, and when he does, he begins to reorient your life. You have new affections, new desires, a new world view, a way to see the world that's been transformed because this living Messiah who defeated death on the third day abides and lives inside of you forever.”

“The text is not pointing us to a calendar, the text is pointing us to Christ. This text is about how God will deal with sin and he will establish everlasting righteousness through Messiah Jesus.”

“Here you and I are living in a Babylon, living in a world that is not our home. We're sojourners, we are passing through, we are headed to glory, our citizenship is in heaven. But while we are here, your suffering is not permanent, temporary, and there's going to come a day in which evil is going to come to an end, and God has promised it and he has secured it on the 70th week through a perfect bloodstained cross.”

“Therefore, here's your impact point: be comforted and encouraged. Messiah Jesus was cut off for you and through his death he has atoned for all of your sin. Daniel receives the blueprint, we know the reality. Jesus is our true home, what he has waiting for us, what a plan, what a beautiful King who came to fulfill all that you said, every detail, jot and tittle, fulfilled perfectly by the Lord Jesus Christ.”

“I praise you, oh God, that your word remains. Everything that you have written is trustworthy because it finds its fulfillment in your Son who lives forever in heaven now interceding on our behalf. What a King, what a Savior, what a friend we have in Jesus. Strengthen the faith of your people, oh God. Remind them of your perfect plan, your perfect Son, who at the perfect time came to make us a perfect people in him.”
