#GodsPatience
“``Cultivating patience that is unnatural to us starts with an awareness of the supernatural patience of God extended toward us. Have you ever thought about how patient God is with you? Have you ever thought about all the times that God has been patient while you have turned your back on him, while you've rebelled against him, while you've made foolish decisions or even hurtful decisions, decisions to walk away from God, intentional decisions to hurt people around you, and all through that season God has been patient?”

#GospelForEveryone
“A gospel culture is a culture that says that everyone, everyone is available to receive the grace of God. That there is no one who is beyond the gospel of Jesus Christ. That we don't cancel people because of one bad decision or one bad decision or a string of bad decisions or a string of bad actions. But instead we share a message that says the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for everybody, even me.”

#PatiencePays
“What do you stand to gain when you lose your patience? I'll answer it for you. Nothing. You don't gain anything when you lose your patience. But what do you stand to gain when you cultivate patience in your life? There's so much for us to gain if we cultivate patience in our lives. If we do this in our lives individually, think about how different the relationships that matter most to us might be. You know how different your life could be if the people around you were more patient. Think for a moment how their lives might improve if you were more patient.”

#RespondDontReact
“How many times are my apologies rooted in my reactions that I have to circle back later and I have to apologize because I reacted in a certain way? React, regret. React, regret. But responding means that I slow down, I'm intentional, I think about it, and I invite the Holy Spirit to work through me, to speak through me, to act through me, and to react through me. Patient people produce a gospel culture, not a cancel culture.”

#ConvictionToSurrender
“And so he goes on to say this, he says Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience. The NIV says, his immense patience. I love that. His great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they too can believe in him and receive eternal life. And so the path to patience actually travels through an uncomfortable place of conviction. It's an uncomfortable place because I don't like to feel convicted about my impatience. I don't like to be convicted of my sin. I don't like to have that word associated with me. I don't like anyone to call me a sinner. But it is the conviction of our shortcomings, it's the conviction of our failures, it's the conviction of our inability to be patient on our own that leads us to surrender.”

#WalkAtTheirPace
“It's the very definition of love is someone that is willing to slow down and to go at someone else's pace. Love means I'm willing to slow down and walk alongside you. If you've ever helped someone up the stairs or down the stairs, you know it's not helpful unless you slow down and you go at their pace and you help them navigate the road ahead. If you've ever walked with a small child whose legs are much shorter than yours, you know that when you're holding hands and you're walking along with them, you have to adjust your pace. You have to slow down. You have to be patient. You have to go at their pace.”

#PatientChurch
“And what if we did this all together as a group? What if we were a church that was known for people who are so patient with people. People who are unbearable, people who are unforgivable, people who challenge us in all kinds of ways, people who cheat the system, people who push our buttons. But what if we were a group of people who were known for loving people in such a way that we are known for love that is patient? It could be the most effective way to actually share the good news of Jesus with people just through our patience.”

#AwareOfGrace
“Fully appreciating the gift of grace requires that we recognize all that we've done to rebel and to turn away. And that's a difficult place for many of us. But Paul lays the example and he lays out the case against himself of all that he's done to rebel against God and how God was so gracious in his response. And so Paul's appreciation we just finished reading the book of Romans and you can't help but as you read the book of Romans, like Paul's just so excited about the grace of God. And he's excited about the grace of God because he's aware of his own brokenness, he's aware of his own need for a savior in Jesus.”
