God’s pathway to success is rooted in meditating on and obeying His Word. When you consistently keep God’s Word in your mouth and heart, and align your actions with it, you position yourself for prosperity and “good success” that goes beyond finances. This success is holistic, touching every area of your life—behavior, generosity, and purpose. God’s promise is clear: if you observe and do according to all that is written, He will make your way prosperous and give you good success. [01:38]
Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Reflection: What is one specific way you can intentionally meditate on God’s Word today—perhaps by memorizing a verse or speaking it aloud—so that it shapes your actions and decisions?
To step into your God-given assignment, you must release what is over—whether it’s a person, a season, or a loss. Grief and nostalgia can keep you stuck, but God calls you to arise and go forward, honoring the past without idolizing it. What you lost was God’s first, and He has something new for you to do. Don’t let grief or guilt keep you from your purpose; God gives you permission to get up and move into your next season. [11:41]
Joshua 1:1-2 (NKJV)
“After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: ‘Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.’”
Reflection: Is there something or someone from your past that you need to release to God today so you can arise and step into what He has for you now?
God does not expect you to be someone else or to have what others have; He wants you to bring what you have to Him, even if it feels small or inadequate. When you offer your “lunch”—your life, your gifts, your resources—God can multiply it and do miracles. Stop comparing yourself to others or feeling like you’re not enough; God made you enough, and He delights in using what the world calls “not enough” for His glory. [16:23]
John 6:9-11 (ESV)
“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?” Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.”
Reflection: What is one area where you feel “not enough”? How can you offer that to God today and trust Him to use it for His purpose?
True success is not just about what you achieve, but about the habits you build and the health you maintain. God wants you to enjoy the blessings He gives, and that requires physical fitness and healthy routines. Don’t chase shortcuts or focus only on outward appearance; instead, cultivate habits that lead to lasting well-being so you can fully live out your assignment. [27:10]
Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NLT)
“And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.”
Reflection: What is one healthy habit you can start or recommit to today that will help you steward your body and energy for God’s purposes?
Rest is not a luxury; it is a God-given rhythm that protects your health and sustains your success. Working without rest leads to burnout and shortens your impact, but trusting God enough to rest shows faith in His provision. God provides for those He loves even while they sleep, so honor your need for rest and trust that He will take care of what concerns you. [33:04]
Psalm 127:2 (NLT)
“It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.”
Reflection: What is one practical step you can take today to honor God’s gift of rest—whether it’s setting a bedtime, taking a nap, or unplugging from work?
In this sixth part of the “Pathway to Success” series, we explore the reality that the journey to true success is rarely smooth or easy. Just as broken glass on a path signals the need for a breakthrough, our own paths are often marked by trials, resistance, and challenges that ultimately strengthen us. God desires for us to do well—not just financially, but in our behavior and generosity, using our blessings to uplift others.
Looking at Joshua’s story, we see that even after the death of Moses, God’s work continues. Joshua, who had been Moses’ assistant and mentee, faced the daunting task of stepping into leadership after such a monumental figure. God’s first words to Joshua, “Moses my servant is dead,” were not an announcement but a call to move forward. Joshua had to detach from the past, grieve what was lost, and embrace the new assignment God had for him. This is a powerful reminder that what we lose—whether people, seasons, or opportunities—was God’s first, and He has the right to call us into new seasons.
Many of us get stuck in grief or comparison, feeling unworthy or inadequate to step into what God is calling us to do. But God does not expect us to be someone else; He expects us to be ourselves. The miracle of Jesus feeding the multitude with a boy’s small lunch teaches us that what we have, though it may seem insufficient, becomes more than enough in God’s hands. We are enough, not because of our own strength, but because God specializes in using what seems broken or inadequate for His glory.
Another crucial aspect of success is our physical health and habits. Success must happen in our bodies, and without health, we cannot fully enjoy or sustain what God gives us. Habits matter more than quick fixes or appearances. Rest is a spiritual discipline, not just a physical need. God designed us with rhythms of rest, and when we violate those rhythms—chasing wealth or working without pause—we undermine our own longevity and effectiveness. True success is not just about working hard, but about working wisely, resting when needed, and trusting God to provide even while we sleep.
Joshua 1:1-9 (ESV) — > After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. ... Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Ecclesiastes 5:19 (ESV) — > Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.
Psalm 127:2 (ESV) — > It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
And some of y'all are stuck in good and pursuing success because you're grieving, but some of you are stuck in pursuing success because you don't think you're enough. Because you're comparing yourself to whoever you're replacing or whoever standard you look up to or whoever you follow on social media. And you're not getting their whole story, you're just getting their glory, but you're not getting their story. [00:14:56] (22 seconds) #EnoughWithWhatYouHave
He understood that if I put it in Jesus's hands, what's not enough will become enough. Who am I talking to? And I came to preach to somebody today. All he needs is your lunch. All he needs is your life. He don't need you to have what she has. He don't need you to have what he has. Give him what you got and he will make a miracle and he will add whatever you need. [00:16:55] (22 seconds) #UseYourLunchMiracles
God specializes in taking broken things and using them for his glory so that when all is said and done, you ain't got no choice to say if it had not been—that little—when you place it, all he needs is your lunch. All he needs is your lunch. Joshua, I don't need you to be Moses. I don't need you to forget Moses either. Honor him, remember him, but get up. Watch this: arise and go. [00:18:14] (60 seconds) #SuccessStartsWithHealth
He says two words, two words to Joshua: arise and go. Arise and go. I feel like I'm on assignment. I wish I could walk around every campus and into every living room and grab the hands of people who've been sitting in depression over who you lost and over what you lost. The divorce happened. The sickness happened. The death happened. You had to bury somebody. You had to lose something. It's over now. I'm giving you permission to arise. [00:19:15] (34 seconds) #HabitsOverScale
What is most important is not the scale or the mirror. It is your habits. All three are important, but your habits are more important than the mirror and the scale. And the reason why I say that is because we are so focused on the scale and we're so focused on the mirror that we will shortcut the habits to get the look in the mirror and the number on the scale. [00:27:19] (26 seconds) #RestIsSuccess
Whenever you take a shortcut in any area of your life, you might take one in other areas. Let the habits be the most important thing, and then one day the scale and the mirror will align to it. But if you shortcut it out of impatience, you might get the number on the scale you want and you might get the look in the mirror you want, but because you don't have the habits, you're still not healthy. [00:27:57] (26 seconds) #WealthAndWellness
Don't make money the goal. Make quality the goal. And if quality is the goal, the money will magnetize yourself. Money always follows quality. Am I telling the truth? But if you're chasing money, then you're going to get tired and you're going to get sick. It says be wise and rest when you need to, which means the other way is foolish.
