“we do not teach them the law so that they might know how they can be saved. The law says, do this and live. The problem is none of us can do this. So we don't teach the children the law so that they might know how they can be accepted by God. No. We teach them the law so that they might know that they can't do it And that the law points us to the one who can do it. In fact, who has done it and that is Jesus Christ. The gospel says, done. Finished. It is finished. Christ has done what we cannot do. Christ has kept the law perfectly.”

“He's the sinless lamb of god who took upon himself our sins, bore it in his own body when he died on the cross, suffering in our place, shedding his blood that our sins might be atoned for and that we could be reconciled to god the father. The gospel says, done, believe. The law says, do this and live. The gospel says, done and just believe in Christ, the one who has done it. He has accomplished it all that you may live.”

“It's not enough simply to go to church. It's not enough simply to even listen to the sermon. We must meet God as he requires, and that is believing him, believing his word. Not just professing, but believing. Not just professing, but possessing. We must listen and learn. Listen to God's voice in scripture and learn from the inherited stories that have been passed down to us.”
