#FaithRipples
“Church, your faithfulness today, the training that you partake in today, can have ripples and effects forty years and beyond in the kingdom of God. When we allow ourselves to be trained by faithful people, and then we intentionally train ourselves by the word of God, and then we train others, we can extend this spiritual family line further along. And there is no greater joy than to see faith passed on.”

#BibleStudyLegacy
“And when you look at the impact that this Bible study had on me from the seventies, it's like truly profound. Some of my best friends were children of people that were part of because they met at Tabs, got married, raised faithful children that then could pour into my life later on. One of my best high school friends was the son of one of those original five people who started this study. I got a wife out of that bible study. My in laws were there, and the word of God gave them a foundation to raise a beautiful, god fearing daughter. Or you could look at it like this. Their priority of studying the word of God together in the past is what ended up preparing their future daughters, future husband, to love Jesus. How about that?”

#DevotionalRipples
“And when we open up our Bibles and as we we read our devotionals, as you do those things, this isn't just about you and Jesus' walk and relationship together. It extends beyond that. As we open up the word of God, as we spend time with it, as we're trained by it, it has ripple effects. It's not just about you checking off a box of daily devotional. It's about you being trained. And maybe your grandson or your kids, their spouse will be affected by it one day.”

#LiveTheWord
“Practice these things. Immerse yourself in them so that all may see your progress. Today, church, this is an exhortation, an encouragement to take the word of God seriously. To practice living out your faith. To immerse yourself in training with the word of God, and then to pass on pass it on. Do you think those high schoolers ever imagined that their study would impact the kingdom of God the way it did? I'm just one of the many ripples of that impact.”

#PourInPourOut
“But I wanna bring it back to today. If I'm Timothy, Tony was one of the first Pauls I had in my life. Who was yours Paul? You have a Timothy. Or maybe even better put, thinking through it. If you are Paul, do you have a Barnabas in your life and do you have a Timothy in your life? Someone pouring into you and someone that you're pouring into. It's how the church extends beyond us into the future.”

#FindYourBarnabas
“Paul poured into Timothy and trained him. And then Timothy went on to lead churches and train them. But even Paul had somebody who poured and vouched for him. Barnabas poured into Paul by acting as an advocate, an initiator, and a collaborative partner who unlocked Paul's potential for ministry. Barnabas to Paul, then Paul to Timothy. My question this morning is this, who is your Barnabas in your life and who's your Timothy? In other words, who is the person who is primarily poured into your faith? Who encouraged and trained you in faith, either currently or in your past?”

#JoyOfDiscipleship
“To be frank with you, most of the time as we preach, we want to make sure that we don't give you some type of just rule to follow because most of the time when we give if if we just give you a new rule to follow, like punch in the arm, do this. Then through the week, you're like, I'll do this, and I'll measure my success in my faith walk with whether I can achieve it or not. And if I fail, then I just feel broken, and I feel like a failure as a Christian. And today, this is I mean, I'm not trying to burden you with, like, go work harder. I'm trying to give you the gift that as we step into our faith walks, as we we step into training, as we pass it on, there's just such a gift in that. There's a joy that we get to participate with God's, like, family lineage that happened from Paul to Timothy all the way through the generations to where we are today.”

#FaithfulThroughGenerations
“Dear Jesus, we are thankful for the way that you work. You are faithful through generation to generation, and your word does not return void. You are bigger than our imperfections, and the church can be messy, but it also can be so beautiful as you are faithful to the next generation and as you use us broken people to pass on something as beautiful as faith. And so, Lord, work on us. Encourage us. Let us continue to toil and strive because we have our hope set on you, the living God, who's the savior of all people.”
