Even when the church feels pressed or threatened, God’s presence is steadfast, and His purpose for His people cannot be thwarted. In times of hardship, remember that God’s protection is real, and He calls His people to persevere and trust in His plan. [34:18]

And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth. And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems. His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it. She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne, and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days.

“You see, Satan is out to devour. is our He's our opposition to God's redemptive plan from the start. He's out to split. He's out to destroy. He's out to steal however he can. Not only with us as individuals in spiritual warfare, but the church. The church, which can be extremely scary. We've probably seen it. We probably know churches that have been divided, that have completely dissolved because of the division that takes place. And that's what happens when we allow Satan to enter in.”

“The reality is is that wilderness can resemble God's protection for us. You see, we can rest in God's presence. Even in the midst of struggle, even in the midst of being in the wilderness, we can rest to know that God is protecting us and that God is with us no matter what. And so, I think that's what this scripture, this this imagery is describing for us.”

“You see, God's plan cannot be stopped. Please understand that. Throughout scripture, there's been a plan all along. Right? And the plan continues for us. Plans to, as Jeremiah 29:11 says, plans to prosper us and to give us a future, not to harm us. So the things that happen to us are not for harm, but for good for those who love Christ Jesus.”

“And so we need to remember that in the midst of where we are that God protects his people and he preserves his mission. And then we keep going and and and this is the one that is kind of hard for us to imagine in verse seven that there's a war in heaven. Really? There's a war actually. In fact, there's um talk there's another reference of a war before this in heaven with the archangel and Satan battling it out.”

“Spiritual warfare is very real friends. It's real in the past. It's real in the present. And it will be present until the very end until Satan is finally defeated and will be in hell. But until that moment, there is going to be spiritual warfare. And so, we will be continuing to battle against our enemy, which is Satan.”

“We see it everywhere, don't we? We see it in others. We see it how just the world is right now with the division, with the suffering that is happening in our world because they the enemy wants to distract us from God's call. from God's call on the church, from God's call on our lives. He wants to destroy us and distract us from the purpose that God has created us to have.”

“The overcoming is like a loud voice in heaven saying, "Now you have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom our God and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers who accuses them." All right. And that's Satan. The accuser who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the lamb.”

“The sacrifice that Jesus made for us once and for all. That we would never be hungry or thirsty as long as we seek him. God our provider who provides for us in the midst of it all. And so we reminded that they overcame him by the blood of the lamb by the word of their testimony. They did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

“But woe to the earth and to the sea because the devil has gone down to you. He is filled with fury because he knows that his time is short. You see, he is working overtime. And we don't always talk about it because I don't always want to give him as much credit as he should because he shouldn't really get any credit. But the reality is is that he's fighting against us.”

“He's fighting against us to defeat us, to divide us, to distract us, to take us away from serving God in any form or fashion. He's that voice, that dark voice, right? I think it was Rey was talking about, you know, we've got angel on one side and the devil on the other, right? That little imagery. And so the reality is is that he's working. He's got the bullhorn in our ear and he's trying to do everything he can to distract us from what God wants us to do in our lives.”

“God gives the woman wings to go to the wilderness for protection and perseverance. You see, that's what God does for us. God still perseveres for us. God still protects us. But we have to lean in to God for that. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to be in us so that we can be protected from the enemy. Does that mean we're going to win every single day, every single battle, every single thought that comes in our minds?”

“But when we meet in those times of defeat, we need to be reminded that the spiritual warfare that God is we're kind of in the midst of and that the serpent is trying to win is that the enemy has been defeated. Yes. The battles might be lost, but the war has already been won through Christ, through the cross, through the death, through the resurrection. It's the resurrection that matters because if there were no resurrection, then we wouldn't have the abundant and eternal life offered to us through Jesus.”

“And so Satan, when Satan attacks us, when Satan attacks the church, when Satan attacks the believers, we as followers of Christ have to lean into who God is. We have to lean into the word. And one of the pastors and kind of spiritual leaders I follow on social media, he's been enduring a recent health battle and he's been in the hospital for a time and now he's out and said this morning as I was checking my social media.”

“In November, instead of doing a no shave November, do a read the word every day. Instead of before you eat your breakfast, read the word. before you leave your house, read the word. Right? And so he challenged us, I say us because I'm watching this, to be in the word every single day before you begin your day. And so it it challenged me because I want to be in the word more.”

“I want to be in the word more and grow more than I ever have before in my relationship with God. because I do feel like we are in the midst of a battle and if I am not in in the word more I'm going to be defeated. Our church will be defeated and I don't want that. I don't want that for you either. So I want to challenge us in the midst of November if you'll join me because and I want you to like check me on it.”

“As I finish out our time together this morning, Revelation, I just want you to understand that there is an unseen battle that we need to be ever mindful of. And that we need to be doing everything we can to defeat and to win that battle. And that begins in the word and through prayer.”
