A Noticeable Outpouring | Pastor Yaw Osei-Owusu

The call to revival begins with urgency, not title. Ephesians 4 makes it plain that God gives pastors, prophets, teachers, and evangelists to prepare the saints for the work of ministry. Every saint becomes a minister when Jesus becomes Lord. The work does not wait for a collar, an office, a microphone, or a platform.

Revival is not just people crying at the altar, falling out, speaking in tongues, or receiving prophetic words. Those things may be good, but the mission is bigger. Revival becomes noticeable when people inside the church get outside the church and go into the world. The real thing that should make the church cry is that people outside are dying and going to hell.

Matthew 28 puts the assignment before the power. Jesus says all authority has been given to Him, then He says, “Go.” The church does not go in its own name, its degree, its wisdom, or its flowery words. The church goes under the name above every name, and when Jesus is preached, demons, principalities, and spiritual powers must bow.

The word “gospel” begins with “go.” Jesus is not asking the world to come to the church. Jesus is commanding the church to go into the world. A going church is ready for the coming Christ, and the church must leave the building.

Salt is not effective in salt. Salt must touch food. Light is not effective in light. Light must enter darkness, whether that darkness is a workplace, a neighborhood, a metro station, a club, a dorm, a family, or a city. The mission field is already under the feet of every disciple.

Matthew 9 says the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. God is not looking for experts, CEOs, or supervisors. God is looking for laborers, and ordinary people become candidates for the work the moment they belong to Christ.

The Great Commission reaches all nations. Heaven will be multicultural, every tribe, every tongue, every people, and every nation. The church must not only reach people who look the same, talk the same, or think the same. The kingdom is global, so the mission must be global too.

Baptism publicly marks disciples. Romans 6 shows baptism as burial and resurrection with Christ, a public sign that the old life is gone and a new life has begun. Jesus never called secret disciples. Baptism says, “I have changed kingdoms, masters, and direction.”

Jesus ends Matthew with assurance. Emmanuel is not merely coming near later. Emmanuel is with His people now, and His presence makes obedience possible.
