Psalm 127 puts the whole question of America under God’s hand: “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” The republic may have been founded with wisdom, with checks and balances, with life, liberty, justice, and human dignity rooted in the image of God, but the house cannot stand by human guarding alone. Benjamin Franklin’s warning, “A republic, madam, if you can keep it,” still hangs over the nation, and the keeping of it depends on truth that comes from God, not from any man-made system.

Jesus stands at the center as “the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14 and Acts 4 make the claim plain: salvation is found in no one else, and there is no other name under heaven by which anyone must be saved. Hebrews 1 shows that God has spoken finally in His Son, who is “the radiance of God’s glory” and the exact representation of His being. John 11 adds that Jesus is not merely a teacher about life, but “the resurrection and the life” Himself. Everlasting life comes only by being united to Him.

Islam is then measured by that truth and found incompatible with biblical Christianity. That is why the Christian’s confidence rests not in good works outweighing bad works, but in Jesus having paid the price for sin and declared His people righteous.

Islam’s branches, especially Sunni and Shia, carry deep historical divisions over succession after Muhammad. Radical Islamic movements take later warlike commands as present duty and pursue Sharia through revolution, warfare, and terror. Yet Muslims must be separated from Islam as a system. Most Muslims are not jihadists, and many are peaceful, hospitable people. The deepest Christian response must see them as precious people who need Jesus, because the battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual darkness.
