When you take your last breath, you don't go into a sleeping mode. The Bible does not talk about a place of sleeping. The Bible does not talk about that you lose consciousness. The Bible does not talk about you go to a place of spiritual progression. The Bible never talks about somebody else, can pray for you, that you would have a chance to now go to heaven after you die. No, the Bible doesn't ever teach about that. You have a choice on this side to choose your destiny, your eternity. [00:22:39] (29 seconds)  #NoSleepInDeath

The Bible does not talk about a place of sleeping. The Bible does not talk about that you lose consciousness. The Bible does not talk about you go to a place of spiritual progression. The Bible never talks about somebody else can pray for you, that you would have a chance to now go to heaven after you die. No, the Bible doesn't ever teach about that. You have a choice on this side to choose your destiny, your eternity. [00:22:43] (24 seconds)  #ChooseYourEternity

Just to be clear, Lazarus is not in heaven because he was poor, and the rich man is not in hell because he was rich. It's by faith that we are saved. However, Jesus makes it very clear that a poor individual, the poor of this world, are much more likely to receive the good news of Jesus as their savior. They're much more likely to recognize their need of a savior than a rich man. [00:25:00] (27 seconds)  #FaithNotWealth

The decisions that we make on this side with what we're going to do with Jesus is the decision. There's no second chance. There's no, turning back. There's no, I need more time. Irrevocably fixed. [00:28:23] (15 seconds)  #NoSecondChances

The rich man knew that his punishment was just, I find this fascinating. He didn't cry foul. He didn't say this is unfair. He didn't say, I don't deserve this because on the other side, we will know complete justice in heaven. Nobody's looking down and saying my family member shouldn't be there. That person shouldn't be there because God is a just and a holy God. You would not want to worship a God who is not holy and just. He's loving and he's just. You know what met at the cross? Mercy and grace met justice on the cross. [00:28:38] (38 seconds)  #JusticeAndMercy

One thing that will not happen on the other side is missions and evangelism. Worship will continue, but missions will cease. This is our time for missions and evangelism. This is the opportunity we have to share the good news with coworkers, family members, friends, because none of us in the room ever want that conversation. This is what I think about all the time, but you didn't tell me. I lived with you. I went to class with you. I was on the sports team with you. I worked with you. I lived with you. And you never told me. [00:29:26] (41 seconds)  #NowIsTheTimeToShare

Listen, it's up to them to make the decision what they're going to do with Jesus. We don't use fear as a tactic. We're always kind and we're always honest. We always speak the truth and you love at the same time. [00:30:07] (15 seconds)  #TruthAndLove

But God demonstrated his love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Does that sound like a God who wants to send people to hell? Not to me. While we were sinners, Christ died for us. [00:31:44] (15 seconds)  #LoveDemonstrated

Did you trust Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins? Because someone has to pay for your sins. Either you, you pay for it or Jesus pays for it. What you believe about eternity determines how you live today. It's really important for God. [00:34:02] (19 seconds)  #FaithDeterminesLife

Oh God, it's so much more than spending eternity with you. It's about living with you in the here and the now. Holy Spirit, move among us, speak to us, encourage us, challenge our misconceptions about eternity this morning. [00:36:22] (19 seconds)  #LivingWithGodNow
