True worship is not a response to favorable circumstances but a declaration of trust in the midst of them. It is the greatest act of faith, a choice to praise God for His victory even when the battle still rages. This kind of worship extends faith toward heaven and stands in defiance of every fear and obstacle. It is fighting from a place of victory, not for it, because Christ has already won. [12:48]
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. (Psalm 34:4, NIV)
Reflection: What is one specific situation you are currently facing that feels like a battle? How could choosing to worship God, even in the middle of it, become a practical declaration of your trust in His victory?
Faith is not a passive wish but an active realization and confidence. It is the assurance that what God has promised is as good as done, even if it is not yet visible to our physical senses. This confidence operates like a title deed, providing proof of a future reality we have not yet taken possession of. It is perceiving as real fact what has not yet been revealed. [58:16]
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1, NIV)
Reflection: What is one promise from God’s Word that you are hoping to see manifested in your life? How can you begin to live today with the confidence that it is already yours, as if you are holding the title deed to that promise?
Faith arrives when we hear the Word of God, but it is our obedience that activates it. God often looks for simple, willing hearts who will act on the confidence He provides, even when it seems unconventional or requires personal risk. Our role is not to rationalize our way out of what God says, but to step out in trust, knowing He is responsible for the outcome. [22:33]
But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. (James 2:18, NIV)
Reflection: When you last read Scripture or prayed, what was one gentle prompt or idea you felt God might be asking you to obey? What is one practical, small step you could take this week to act on that prompting?
Our faith is built and strengthened through intentional engagement with God’s Word and consistent communication in prayer. This does not need to be complex; it can start with finding a specific scripture to stand on and offering simple, one-sentence prayers throughout the day. As we listen and lean in, God provides the mercy and grace we need for our specific situations. [24:33]
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. (Romans 10:17, NIV)
Reflection: What is one area where you need God’s help this week? Find one Bible verse that speaks to that need and commit to praying a simple, one-sentence prayer, like “God, help,” each time you think of it.
Reflecting on past victories where God has been faithful builds our confidence for current and future challenges. Our personal testimonies are powerful tools that not only strengthen our own faith but also encourage others in their journey. Sharing what God has done is an act of obedience that proclaims His goodness and helps others believe for their own breakthroughs. [32:39]
I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds. (Psalm 77:11-12, NIV)
Reflection: Bring to mind a specific time when God was undeniably faithful to you. Who is one person in your life you could encourage this week by sharing that story with them?
Worship functions as a weapon and the outward expression of faith, offered from victory rather than in frantic striving. Worship that rises in the midst of battle declares trust in God's prior triumph and pushes back fear; it becomes the act of extending faith toward God. Financial stewardship and practical faith appear together in the invitation to give: a Legacy Lane focus for Next Gen ministries and a fundraising appeal to support a student mission trip that seeks spiritual encounters and harvests of souls. The series roots faith in prayer language Jesus taught—“your kingdom come, your will be done”—and uses Mark 9’s healing account to show how faith, often misunderstood, operates as the channel through which God’s provision moves.
Faith receives clarification through Hebrews 11:1: faith both realizes what is hoped for and provides confidence in what is not yet seen. Concrete images—children trusting wrapped gifts, disciples calmed in a storm, a testimony of a teenager’s conviction that led to a woman’s healing—illustrate faith as a simple, resolute conviction that compels obedience. Practical formation of faith proceeds in three linked practices: hearing God’s Word so faith can arrive, praying with boldness and simplicity to obtain mercy and grace, and remembering God’s past faithfulness to reinforce present confidence. Short, repeatable prayers and Scripture-led devotions make faith accessible; disciplined recollection and testimony-sharing cultivate communal boldness.
Call to action centers on obedience: receive a specific word from Scripture for current needs, practice one-sentence prayers throughout the day, journal and share testimonies, and actively invite others to the Easter gathering. Strategic outreach includes writing three invites, praying over names until Easter, and using social media event tools to widen the circle. The posture encouraged is immediate obedience when the Holy Spirit prompts: faith arrives when the word is heard and acted upon, and response—through worship, prayer, giving, and invitation—brings heaven’s realities nearer to earth.
I just, I, you know, in my own mind, you know, I'm I'm thinking about the disciples going in to wake Jesus up and and you you're talking about Jesus, right? This is Jesus. Now, Jesus taking a nap. I don't wanna wake G. I don't wanna wake god up. You know what I'm saying? They go, do you care not that we perish? And he gets up and he rebukes them for their lack of faith and he speaks to the winds and waves and they calm down. Because he knew what he had said. We talked about this last week. They were so focused on the circumstances around them but he knew what he had said and he knew that his word was going to come to pass. Faith is knowing and trusting that if god said it in his word, then it's yours. Amen. Even when circumstances seem to be contrary.

He's god. Amen. He already knew you needed help. He was just waiting on you to call. Yeah. You ain't gotta tell him what you need help with. He already knows. Right. God help. Listen, now as you grow in your faith and you want to, you want to, you want to become more specific, absolutely go for it. Grow in your faith, grow in your prayer life. I'm pro all of that but listen, when you start out, start out simple. God help. I'm in the middle of this temptation. I just need help.

So, let let let's think about it like this, right? I got I got three kids and and when my three kids were were real small, Christmas was super exciting because they would walk out on Christmas morning and they'd see all these gifts and my kids would get super excited even though they had no clue. Well, we could have wrapped empty boxes. Alright. And just place them under the tree. My kids did not know. But they had enough faith to believe that we love them enough that those boxes were not empty. Amen. But that the things they were hoping for, the things they had put on their list to Santa Claus. Right. We're gonna be inside those boxes.

That's the kind of things you don't just need to keep to yourself. You need to share because the fact is is when we look at god's faithfulness in our lives and in the lives of others. It builds faith in us. Are y'all with me? So, here's what I want you to do. I want you to reflect on past victories. Where is it that god has been faithful in your life? Maybe you need to take a journal and write it down just to remember and then I want you to share the stories of god's faithfulness. Find somebody that you can tell it to, right? If you go to lunch with somebody today, tell them about god's faithfulness.

Dear father, come and sit with me now and as we sit together, will you talk to me about anything and everything? And as you speak to me, will you do two things? Will you convict me of my sin and convince me of my purpose? And then I spend the next thirty minutes or so reading scripture because I don't believe it has to be long and drawn out. It doesn't have to be prayed in King James English. Just going god help Pray one sentence prayers throughout the day and then secondly, if you want to grow a little more, pray through scripture. Start with the Psalm. Just open a Psalm and pray through it.

I heard a pastor one time. He said this and he said, if you wanna know what you should be believing for, look at what you're already hoping for. What is it that you long for in your heart? Now, I understand that we can get off on that because we can get into our flesh desires and all that kind of stuff but if you're truly seeking after god and and you find yourself longing for something, maybe that's a clue into what you should be believing god for. Amen. So, now, it said, it's the realization.

And as I was studying this some years ago, the lord spoke to me and he said, Chuck, everything that you could ever need or want is brought into your life through the avenue of faith. And so that sent me on a journey because the scripture says that faith is an elementary principle. Meaning, it's something that you should learn at the very beginning. And so, if it's an elementary principle, I just think it's it's necessary, right? I told you last week, I said, remember, you know, when you're in in elementary school and they they were teaching you one plus one equals two, right?

one plus one equals two. Now, we get into high school and they start talking to me about geometry and calculus and all that stuff, right? I don't I don't use that stuff. Anyway, but one plus one equals two, I still use that stuff, right? I use the foundational stuff. The stuff that I learned that I can build on and that's what the Bible calls faith and so, I wanted to take last week, this week, and the next couple weeks. I wanted to take us on a faith journey to to study and to learn faith because if it's an elementary principle, it's a foundational principle. I want us to be able to walk that out.
