#CarriedByJesus
“``Not because we earned it, not because we did better than we used to, not because we did better than those other people, but because king Jesus put us on his back and carried us like I tried to carry Cade down the slip and slide yesterday. That was a disaster, but Jesus will not fall and tear his hamstring. Jesus will not drop Vince and Riva's child off of his back so that he goes, I don't wanna do the slip and slide anymore, mom, because I keep falling. King Jesus is not gonna drop you. He's not gonna drop you off of his back.”

#ListenMoreSpeakLess
“``Do you need to vent? Do you need to just get anger off of your chest? How about we just look inside and say, where's that anger coming from? And we rely on the spirit of God to take it from us, and we believe that he will. How about that? Instead of having to vent it all the time. I just wanna be heard. I think we have one mouth and two ears on purpose. Where in our lives and in our relationships do we need to close our mouths and open our ears?”

#ObeyAsChildren
“``God just wants to do that for you. We obey God's word because we are God's children, right? Just like the lemon tree grows lemons. Just like the people with the Holy Spirit develop the fruit of the spirit in their lives, we obey God's word not to become God's children, but we obey God's word because we are God's children. Because it's something that he has made us into. He is the king. We recognize that he is the boss. He is the one who spoke everything into existence with the word of his power, with the breath in his lungs.”

#ProgressNotPerfection
“``This is a false teaching that we get to be saved by God through Jesus and have absolutely nothing change about how we live life. And remember how I said our lives won't be immediately perfect reflections of our new heart. It will be a growing reflection of our new heart. So are we seeing growth? Not perfection, progress.”
