God has blessed the church with faithful servants, worship leaders, teachers, and brethren who are stepping up to equip God’s people in the knowledge of Christ. Christology, the study of Christ the Messiah and Anointed One, brings the church back to the very heart of the gospel: the cross and the shedding of Jesus’ blood for the forgiveness of sin.
Isaiah’s promise declares that God can take out the stain of sin. The old covenant used animal sacrifice as an atonement, a covering for sin, but God promised a better covenant where sin would not merely be covered but removed. God makes those stained red as crimson white as freshly fallen snow and white as wool. No stain is too deep and no sin is too big for the cleansing power of Christ.
The life of the flesh is in the blood, and human blood pictures God’s life-giving design. Red blood cells carry oxygen, plasma carries nutrients, white blood cells fight invaders, platelets bring healing, and the whole bloodstream removes waste from the body. The blood of Jesus does even more for the soul. Christ’s blood gives eternal life, and that life is received by faith, not merely by knowing facts about it. Faith must receive what Christ has accomplished, just as medicine must be taken before it can help the body.
The white blood cells act like soldiers that track, seek, and destroy harmful invaders. The blood of the Lamb likewise gives believers defense against the devil, the roaring lion who seeks victims. Revelation declares that God’s people conquer the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Christ has not left His people defenseless, because greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world.
The platelets show how God designed blood to stop loss and bring healing. Isaiah declares that by Christ’s wounds, by His shed blood, healing comes. God still heals because His power did not stop in Acts and the power of Christ’s blood has never diminished.
The blood also removes waste from the body, and the blood of Jesus removes sin from the soul. First John declares that the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin, not some sin and not many sins only. Human effort, good works, religious activity, self-harm, prayers, law-keeping, and joining a church cannot make dirty water clean. Only the sinless, spotless, pure blood of Jesus can make sinners whole again. Nothing but the blood of Jesus can take away sin.

Key Takeaways
- 1. God removes sin’s deepest stain Isaiah’s promise does not minimize the ugliness of sin. God names the crimson stain and then declares His power to take it out completely. Christ’s cleansing is not cosmetic; it changes how God sees those washed by the blood, clean as snow and white as wool. [40:32]
- 2. Faith receives Christ’s finished work Christ’s blood must be received by faith, not admired only as a doctrine. Knowledge that medicine can heal does not help until it is taken, and knowledge that Christ forgives does not help until the heart trusts Him. God presents Christ as the sacrifice for atonement, received by faith. [51:43]
- 3. The blood defends against the enemy The white blood cells picture soldiers that seek and destroy harmful invaders. Christ’s blood gives God’s people a real defense against the devil, not fear and not self-confidence. The Lamb’s victory becomes the ground for testimony, endurance, and spiritual resistance. [55:07]
- 4. Christ’s wounds still bring healing Isaiah joins Christ’s wounds to healing, because His suffering was not empty pain. God remains the same God who heals, and Christ’s blood has not lost its power through the centuries. Healing rests in God’s power and compassion, not in human ability. [59:26]
- 5. Nothing else can cleanse the heart Human righteousness cannot wash away sin, because even the best deeds cannot remove the deepest stain. Religious effort may stir the water, but only Jesus’ spotless blood makes it clean. Christ alone is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
