#ChurchIsFamily
“``But as we read through scripture, we find that the New Testament, it paints a vastly different picture, a vastly different picture. Because where the church isn't primarily an event, it's a body. Right? It's a family is what it is. A healthy community of goodness is what the church is. Right? Where life is lived and discerned in the context of a of a Jesus centered community where we get together, we walk with one another, we link arms with one another to experience Jesus together. The church was never designed to be an experience, a show that we come to. It was designed to form disciples, to shape one another, to be shaped by one another, to ultimately become more like Jesus.”

#HeartOfChurch
“Guys, that is the heart of the church. That is the heartbeat of the kingdom of God. This is these are the things that revive the church and change community around us. I'm gonna say it again. I I've seen so many people hurt by churches because the focus becomes about an experience on Sunday. It's like a serotonin spike in your brain. Right? But you know what it does? It leaves you empty Monday through Saturday because you're not experiencing, you're missing out on the real power of the church body. A Sunday pep talk can't ever replace a ministry of presence. That's why Jesus didn't just preach sermons. That's why he sent the church. That's why he walked alongside of his disciples.”

#JesusWalksWithUs
“He came. Jesus Christ came. He took on flesh and bones just like you and me so that they could tangibly see his glory. He came to us so that so he could be close to us, so that he could actually walk with us and be near to us. You know, oftentimes when we pray, we pray to Jesus like he's a genie in in in the bottle. Right? A genie who we just want him to do our bidding. We wanna rub that lamp so that Jesus will grant our wishes. Right? We've talked about this before. We wanted to make our issues, our problems disappear so that we can get back to our real lives, the things that we want to do. But, guys, that's not at all who Jesus is. That's not who he is. He walks with you in the struggle. Yeah?”

#TrueAllyStays
“Now notice, an ally isn't someone who fixes your life. It doesn't have to be someone who has all the answers. They're just someone who refuses to leave your life. Someone who will stick with you. Right? They got that stickiness to them. An ally doesn't just give guidance and encouragement. Right? They don't just make connections. They walk with you. They go with you through life, through all your situations, through all your ups and downs. They they celebrate the highs. Right? And they mourn with you in the lows. All as we help one another discern together what God is doing, where he is leading us.”

#BarnabasBelieved
“Everyone else, they saw Saul's past. They saw what he had done. They saw where he had been, and they they couldn't get past it. They couldn't move on from him. But Barnabas saw saw a future. In fact, Barnabas saw the future that God had for him. And so instead of avoiding him, instead of running away from him, he actually moved towards him. Right? He went to him. And because Barnabas chose to be an allied Saul, Saul was able to move forward and speak boldly in the name of the Lord as it says.”

#MoveForwardTogether
“Because here's what isolation does. It leaves us stuck. Right? It leaves us stuck. It leaves us stuck in a place where we stop growing, we stop serving, we stop mentoring. There is no more dreaming, and there's nothing to build. And eventually, we get to a place where we just we just end up trying to survive. Right? We just try to make it through. But the church, designed by God himself, it's got it's so much more than that. It's about moving forward and taking next steps, but not alone. We do so together. We take steps. We move forward with one another.”

#InviteAnAlly
“So my question is, will you invite somebody into your circle this week? Like, will you be vulnerable enough, humble enough to allow someone in your life to be a Barnabas, to walk alongside of you, to share openly the struggle that you're going through? Will you invite somebody this week to be that person for you? Guys, Barnabas never tried to become the hero of anyone's story. What he did was walk alongside of Paul in a ministry of very real presence to help Paul physically, to encourage him emotionally, and point him always back to Jesus spiritually.”

#ChooseVulnerability
“This is hard, though. Right? This is the hard part. Because we don't like to admit that we need help. It makes us feel vulnerable. It makes us feel like we're not complete. Like, we want we wanna just walk around smiling, especially at church, I feel. We wanna walk around smiling so that everybody thinks we've got all all of our stuff figured out. But here's the thing, if you keep everyone at arm's length from you and push them aside from you, you'll never experience the ministry of presence in your life that I believe we've all been longing for at some point. Like, you're gonna miss the very real power of the church, what God designed the church to be.”
