#BeyondTheCurse
“``You and I live in a world that is dark, and the light of Jesus penetrates But we are going to a place where there is no more darkness, and there's no need of light because Jesus is the light. Can you imagine a world where you have no locks on your doors? Can you imagine a world where you have no banks to protect your money? Imagine a world where there are no more policemen and and no lawyers. A world where there's there's no more doctors, no more hospitals, no more pharmacies. None of those things. Because those things are tied to the curse. We we are tied to the things that bring death and disease or conflict and unsettledness. And all of that is part of the curse. Can you imagine a world where we don't have to think about the curse anymore? Where there's no effect of the curse anymore? We lit and all we do is live in God's presence.”

#RelationshipWithGod
“I don't wake up in the morning and remind myself I can't date anymore. I don't wake up in the morning and worry about anything else. You know, when we were dating, I'd take her out to fancy restaurants and try to impress her because, well, I wanted to show her how much she meant, and I wanted her to like me. Now I take her out to a fancy restaurant just because I wanna be with her. I just wanna be with her. You know, when we start our relationship with God, we do a lot of things to try to impress him or to try to show him we're serious or or try to smooth over the mistakes of the past and and hope they're enough. But the longer you walk with him, the more what you crave is relationship. I just wanna be with you.”

#PearlOfGreatPrice
“So do you got it? The only ones who go in are the ones whose names are in the lamb's book of life. So where's your name? Listen. You you can that that that merchant, he worked real hard at knowing pearls. He knew. Maybe you've spent your life working real hard about being successful. Maybe you're an expert on how to be popular. May maybe you've worked real hard in all these areas to build a certain kind of life, and and you've done it all. But deep inside, you're not satisfied, and your name's not in the lamb's book of life. You just know that. Like a pearl of great price, it is worth it all. To give up the life you're an expert at building, to come to a new life you know nothing about, but to trust in the one who is life to give you life. You're worth it, and God created a place to spend all eternity with you.”

#GodsGrandDesign
“That what I was doing in the Old Testament set the stage for New Testament apostles. And what the New Testament apostles were able to do was only possible because of the foundation that was set long, long ago. Abraham was right. He was looking for a city, And the New Testament is right. The only way in the city is through Christ. That that he's not doing something new. He's been working this from the beginning. He is a God of such intricate detail. He is a God of such such organization and wisdom that over the centuries, we think there's no way that all of this could be connected. And God says, oh, but it is. It is. Because I have been weaving it from the beginning.”

#PresenceNotTemple
“He says there's no temple in the city. The temple was to atone for sins and to make right a relationship with God. There is no more sin. We talked about that a few weeks ago. And everybody who now exists has been made perfect, and we are in the presence of God. There's no sacrifices to make. There's no more relationship to keep right. We we live in a perfect place, in perfect bodies, with a perfect God. There's no need for a temple to to make atonements, to make sacrifices, to approach God. We're in his presence. We're with God. And that Jesus is that light. He is it was that lamp that was there.”

#PreparedByTheSpirit
“And John says, God wants the same thing too. He's creating a place for you. He's given you his holy spirit so you can learn what it's like to be in his presence just a little bit. Because one day you're gonna get such an overwhelming dose of it. It's a shock to the system. But right now you've got his spirit, and you're walking in faith, and you're learning about obedience, and you're learning about his presence. But one day you're gonna be with the full magnitude of God's glory in perfection for all eternity. This is the beginning. That's the culmination. And it is not about getting God to come here. It is about getting us ready to go there. And that's what John wants us to get.”

#WeAreGodsTemple
“He said, I am building a city multiple times bigger than the holy of holies because I am the lord, the almighty, the great god, but I am bringing you into the holy of holies. Where I am, there you will be. This amazing thing happens when you and I accept Jesus as our savior. The our bodies. The Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us. Paul says it this way, that our bodies become a temple of the Holy Spirit.”

#NoPriceTooHigh
“So it's real simple. There's a guy whose job is selling pearls. It's what he does. He he knows pearls. Right? If he doesn't know pearls, he doesn't stay in business. He knows a quality pearl, and he knows a fraud. He knows value. He knows what to ascribe to it. He knows how to buy and sell and trade. His job is is is built on all that. So he's out doing his work. He's looking at pearls, and he stumbles upon a pearl of such great quality and value. He says it's worth everything. I'll sell my business. I'll empty my bank accounts. I'll mortgage the house. Whatever it takes, that pearl is worth it. Jesus very simply is telling us this, that coming to him and knowing him is worth everything, That there's no price too high for it.”

#UnifiedScripture
“So why is the Old Testament symbol carved with New Testament apostles and the New Testament symbol carved with Old Testament tribes? It almost feels backwards to me. My problem is I've read the Old Testament as old, past, done, over. The New Testament, now that's where I live. I I know Christ. I know the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I read Acts and I get excited because it's all about the church. And I wanna know about the church because I'm part of the church. I lead the church. Church is where it's at. I wanna be a part of the that's what I love. Old Testament, that's gone. Jesus is or God's saying this. Here's what he's saying. These are not two separate stories. been working one story the whole time.”

#GatesAlwaysOpen
“That's what John's trying to get us to see. That's what this new Jerusalem means. We are in this presence with him. There are no there's a unity in the new Jerusalem. There is no danger. We have gates, but the gates are never shut. See, gates were defense mechanisms. Well, if you built a city and you put a gate around it, it was to keep the people inside safe and the enemies out. And you you controlled those gates. You'd open those gates at certain times for commerce and different things, but they were always manned. And and orders could be given to close the gate at any moment if if there was a threat. At night, they were always closed because it was a protection. You don't want people sneaking in. We have these incredible gates. They're never closed because there's no more threat. There's there's nothing. There is no enemy.”

#GraceNotPerformance
“How do you how do you relate to God? Do you relate to God through what you do? Or do you relate to God through who you are who he is? It is easy to relate to God through what we do. That that we understand God's grace. We understand God's love. We understand God's favor. But we are fearful that he will withdraw that. And we feel like some way we have to perform or do something to get that or to continue to get that. There's a great fear of what happens if I do something and it offends God and and then all of a sudden, he's not gracious to me. He's not merciful to me. And the problem is is many times we consider that how we relate to people is how God relates to us.”
43s
#GodsRestoration
“When God created Adam and Eve, he created them to live in a beautiful place called Eden. And he walked with them in the cool of the day, and they had a relationship with God. I can't even imagine until sin severed the relationship. And God is saying, from that moment on, I have been orchestrating everything to restore relationship. And you are gonna come into the place where I dwell. I live.”

#NamesInTheLambsBook
“Last point is that the saints are the only ones there. Says nothing unclean will enter it. No one who does anything detestable or false, only those who are written in the lamb's book of life. The last time we have a reference for the lamb's book of life mentioned six times in the book. This is the last one. Everybody there is there because their name's in the lamb's book of life. Everybody's there because they've made that salvation decision. At some point, they found the pearl a great price. At some point, they said the only door I can come through is Jesus, and they trusted him. They made him their their savior, and they followed him. And they entered into this thing of the believers, the followers of Christ, and they're there because of that commitment.”
34s
#OfferingsOfPraise
“I asked you when we started how you relate to God. You don't find here a lot of things about there's no place for for believers to make sacrifices cause there's no temple. They're bringing stuff. The the the kings and all are bringing stuff, but they're not bringing stuff to repair a relationship. They're bringing stuff to exalt who God is.”
62s
#LiveLikeNewJerusalem
“He said if in here you can create that unity. If in here you could care for one another, if in here there would not be strife and conflict and gossip and backbiting and and and all the things that happen, If in here, it were different, out there, it would look so strange and unusual because they don't operate like that. They don't live like that. But when it comes to the New Jerusalem, that's exactly how it operates. There's no conflict. There's no struggles. There's no there's not nations against nations. There are leaders who just wanna glorify God. And together, we all say we're God's people. We worship and we honor and we glorify him.”

#CityOfGold
“It is a massive square. You don't you don't understand how big this city is. Maybe I can help you if you think of it this way. It is 40 times the size of England, 20 size times size of New Zealand, 10 times the size of France or of Germany or France. It it is massive, but it is a cube too. And its length, its breadth, and its height are all the same. And that's because inside the temple was this place called the holy Of Holies that was a cube. Its measurements are the same. First Kings six, the inner sanctuary was 20 cubits long, 20 cubits wide, 20 cubits high, and he overlaid it with pure gold. Cedar form, gold on the outside. This city is the same dimensions. It I mean, it's the same shape, much larger dimensions. It's not not built by wood overlaid with gold. It's pure gold. The holy of holies is where God dwelt.”

#SacrificeAndAtonement
“In the Old Testament, if if you sinned, you had to bring an animal sacrifice. And you had to come to the brazen altar. And you had to make that sacrifice to that animal there. And that animal lost his life because you said, deserve to die for my sin. But this animal will take my place and die in my place so that I can ask God for forgiveness, and I can be brought back into a relationship with God like it should be. And they would do that. And if you went beyond that, you went to the bronze lover where the priest gather. And there they would wash their hands in a ceremonial way, reminding themselves that they had to be clean before they went to God,”
60s
#GemsAsFoundations
“Because if he was not prepared, if he was not clean, a holy God would strike him dead. He didn't walk into God's presence like you and I walk into Walmart. It was a sobering thing. And as long as he walked around and sprinkled the blood, the priest on the outside, the other side of that curtain, could hear the jingling of the bells. And as long as the bells kept jingling, he was alive and all was fine. But if they ever stopped ringing, he'd been struck dead. And they would take the rope and they'd pull him out. And that's how they would get it out. That was the idea. That was what was behind it. That holy of holies is where God dwell.”
43s
#TwelveStones
“The foundation is the foundation of the city. Now if you know anything about building, you gotta have a good foundation. The foundation is essential to the building. For most of us, we live in a world where usually they dig it out and they put in, you know, probably cinder blocks and some concrete and things like that. We set the foundation, and that's the starting point. Gotta get the foundation right for the whole building to be right, so it's a very crucial step. But usually, it's not seen. Usually, it's not visible. So it doesn't get the most attention. Right? It's just generic concrete and cinder blocks. Not so in heaven. In heaven, the foundation has these precious jewels and gems.”
35s
#FixOurEyesOnHeaven
“Father God, help us to turn loose of anything of this world for none of it lasts and none of it brings life. Help us to cast our eye to a city whose foundations and builder is God, and that we will dwell in your presence in a holy of holies on a magnitude we cannot imagine because you have rescued us and redeemed us, because you want a relationship with us. Help us to understand a bit of that relationship today.”
