#TakeUpYourCross
“Yes. It means we deny ourselves. Yes. It means we take up our cross and we die to our very core, our very nature. But sometimes death is the only path to true life. Like the elks at Yellowstone, we need wolves to come and bring death in their wake. We need the suffering of denial and dying to ourselves in order to find true life. We need to follow Jesus to the cross because there's no other cure for our broken nature. And if we do, we receive life that is truly life, eternal fellowship with God the Father.”

#RunToTheCross
“We need to run to the cross because the cross is the only place where our lives can be fixed. The cross is the only place where our nature can be healed Because our nature is ever to do evil and to turn away from God who loves us and made us, we deserve to die. But Jesus took that penalty on the cross. He paid the price bought brought about by our external sins and the price of our nature turning away from God. He didn't deserve it. We did, but he went there willingly.”

#FaithAndRepentance
“Coming to faith in Jesus isn't just about recognizing something true about him. It's about recognizing something true about us. True faith in Jesus recognizes that our sin nature is a problem we can't face. And so we come with faith and repentance and ask that he would crush the power of sin and death in us by the power of the cross. Because all true followers of Jesus begin their journey by losing their life.”
