The solution isn’t to control external bumps but to daily pour in Scripture, worship, and surrender to Christ. What flows out of you in crisis should startle others with the aroma of the Holy Spirit. The believer is not called to be a thermometer that merely reads the room, but a thermostat that brings the peace, joy, truth, forgiveness, and order of God into it.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. James calls for doers of the Word, not hearers only. Christ shapes motives, thoughts, and responses until obedience becomes not second nature, but first nature: the nature of God. One choice at a time, one breath at a time, one word at a time, the narrow way keeps going.
